Not exactly true. He had one game over 100 yards against us before Wilson showed up and really made them difficult to stop. RB on his own as good as he may be won't get you many wins.
your stats are from 2010 and 2011 dude. unless you havent been paying attention the last 5 or 6 years, hes been s**tting on us all by himself most of the time

Marshawn Lynch, 1,590 yards, ranked as 3rd RB in rushing yards in 2012. Case closed.

Besides, with Beast Mode, is beyond looking at just yards, the dude is a game changer. He will totally demoralize you at the most inopportune moment in the game.

I know you're on the Fournette hype train but slow your role here.

The guy said Lynch killed us EVERY game. I showed that he didn't and it just happpened to correlate to Wilson not being there. The point being one super talented RB does not make that much impact. Soon as they brought in Wilson and added some capable receivers we couldn't stop Lynch.

Fournette struggled to get 3 ypc vs Alabama, you think he's going to take over games against defenses like Seattle has with Hoyer and our passing game?

I agree. The draft is very deep, people have a wide range of personal favorites. There's more uncertainty at the top of the draft than I can recall in awhile. Its a fun draft to think about, because we have needs most everywhere and this draft has plenty of options throughout.

My gut tells me that Solomon Thomas will be the pick, but would I bet money on it? No. Your right, it's going to be a lot of fun watching the draft, because if it's uncertainty. Will there be a run on pass rushers in the top half? Will there be a run on corners early? When will the run on QBs start? Lots of questions.

Seriously, in EVERY game we played against the Seahawks, if it wasn't for Beast Mode, Russell Wilson's passing game wouldn't have taken off.

In other words, Beast Mode could kill us in different ways. He could truck us, he could catch passes and he could totally open up the pass game for RW.

Is very simple really, look at the Seahawks when they didn't have a run game, what happened? When Rawls was down they were fxxked, much like when they didn't have Beast Mode, but only in Lynch's case it was much, much worse.

To date, Rawls is yet to replace Beast Mode's rushing yards. In 2015, Rawls only had 830 yards, that was like only half of Beast Mode's rushing yards in 2012. Plus, he only played 13 games.

In 2016, he went down again and only played 9 games and amounted to 349 yards.

See the problem here? When you don't have a tough bell cow power back, that's what happens. Sure, Seattle's O-line has been trash, but still you have to be tougher than that.

That's where you are wrong, you got caught up with the BS that Fournette can't play outside zone.

When you evaluate Fournette, you think immediate max impact game-changer. Also, do not forget for a moment he is the 2nd best player in this draft after Myles Garrett.

Last but not least, Fournette will be the "cornerstone" of our much fortified run game as it will have to carry the pass game in the foreseeable future.

It doesn't matter if Fournette is Adrian Peterson. You dont use the 2nd overall pick on a RB. Its terrible value. You can find value at RB later. The Shanahan's and Turner are known for taking nobodies and making them 1,000 yard backs. We need SO much. We have Hyde, so using the most valuable pick this regime might ever have on a RB would be idiotic.

Outside zone requires lateral quickness. Fournette is a power scheme guy. Hes a north/south runner. Hes not going to live up to his full potential in this scheme.

There are SO many reasons why its a terrible fit. Its not going to happen. Someone is going to get caught up thinking Fournette is Ezekiel Elliott, but not realizing that the Cowboys OL had a pretty big role in making Elliott a HR pick that early.

Even if he is Adrian Peterson, how many rings does AP have? The formula for winning championships in the modern NFL doesn't involve a stud, bell cow RB.

It makes zero sense to take Fournette at 2, especially for the 49ers. Lynch knows it, and Shanny knows it, which is why they wont be drafting him.

The Seahawks won because they had an ELITE defense. Historically elite in 2013. Lynch was great for a few years, but Seattle's offense was never very good. In the Russell Wilson era, they are 2-17 in games when the opposing team scores 25+ pts. They cant win without the D playing at a high level.

Youre looking at the wrong end of the problem. Last year Seattle started to implode when THE most important part of their D went down. Without Earl Thomas, that D isn't anywhere near the same.

Not at all.

You know what is the scariest part of what you said? We had a completely loaded defense in 2012, in fact we were a top 3 D and we still couldn't stop Beast Mode.

Ultimately, you need to put points on the board to win ball games.

So, what if Seattle has a great D, the truth of the matter is we will still need to score in order to have a chance to beat them.

I have stated all my reasons and that is what got Fournette to where he is at this point, namely being the 2 pick for the 9ers. To be featured in the headline picture on nfl.com as 9ers' 2 pick is no mean feat.

If indeed all the negative things that you said about Fournette are true, he wouldn't have been ranked this high and indeed poised to be taken by the 9ers at 2.

Honestly? I think at this juncture, may be it will be more constructive for you to try to analyze why Fournette could be the pick.

In other words, don't just dismiss it or trash the guy just because you don't like him, but why are experts saying he could well be 9ers' pick? May be stuff like he is regarded as the 2nd best player in this draft after Myles Garrett has something to do with it?

I'll say it again. In today's NFL, a great RB doesn't determine who wins Super Bowls. QB's put points on the board. QB's win Super Bowls. Look at the teams winning titles. Wheres Brady's stud RB? Wheres Rodgers stud RB? Manning's? Brees'? What about the Ravens? The Giants? Outside Lynch, who had a historical D leading the way, what SB champ had leaned on a RB to succeed?

The Cowboys had Elliott, arguably the best in the NFL last year. what happened to their season? What happened to Bell's Steelers? David Johnsons Cards? Peterson's Vikings? Great RB's are important, but not nearly important enough to build your team around.
  1. Myles Garrett
  2. Jamal Adams
  3. Derek Barnett
  4. Malik Hooker
  5. Leonard Fournette

Im not wasting any time looking further into a guy who wont be a Niner. The rumored interest, along with Hyde being "done in SF" is all a smokescreen to lure the Panthers up to 2 to take Fournette. He makes zero sense for us.

Hes not regarded number 2 by any of the scouts ive heard talking about their film study. Anyone who spends a number 2 pick on a RB in todays NFL is retarded. Fournette wont make the difference in whether someone wins a Super Bowl.

Garrett, Trubisky, Fournette or Thomas.
Minnesota never won anything because their qb's were Tavaris Jackson and Christian Ponder. Why don't you guys explain to me what it will take for team to build a SB winning team with that at qb. If they build the greatest defense of all time like the Ravens 00 maybe they could.

I would prefer Thomas or Hooker if we stay at 2. Could live with Trubisky or Adams. Would be SO pissed with Fournette. Taking a RB at #2 would be just so stupid in my opinion.
