Hey MD,
I see Nico Siragusa rising on everybody's board and I believe yours as well. We pick early 3rd round at 66 and then again at 109th. I don't believe he would ever make it to 109th. Do you think 66th is too early? I saw you said he is one of the best guards. Zane Beadles imo is meh and only signed through next year. If we replace Zane then that will shore up the Oline until Staley or Zuttah need to be replaced. Staley, NICO, Zuttah, Garnett and Brown. I thought the Niners have a real interest in Nico. Again, would 66th be too early for you to take Nico and do you believe he's a good fit for our team system?
Sorry MadDog, don't know if you missed this.
Sorry, I must have missed it. I like Siragusa as a starter in the NFL. He plays hard on every snap, has good mobility and squares up on linebackers in the second level. I have every confidence he will be on the board at the start of the third round, and is probably going to be there early in the fourth. He would be a really great value pick on the start of Day Three.
Here is my best board for guards, with graded rounds on the far right
1 Forrest Lamp Western Kentucky 1
2 Cam Robinson Alabama 2
3 Dan Feeney Indiana 2
4 Dorian Johnson Pittsburgh 3
5 Nico Siragusa San Diego St 3
6 Isaac Asiata Utah 4
7 Corey Levin Chattanooga 5
8 Jermaine Eluemunor Texas A&M 5
9 Danny Isidora Miami 5
10 Jessamen Dunker Tennessee St 5
11 Jake Eldrenkamp Washington 6
12 Ben Braden Michigan 7
13 Jordan Morgan Kutztown 7
14 Damien Mama USC 7
15 Aviante Collins TCU 7
Reading a lot about Moton back to guard. Where would you rank him on this list?
Thanks.

1. Solomon Thomas DE
2. Evan Engram (I'd like to trade down in this slot a handful of pick to half round) TE
3. Cooper Kupp Slot
4. Blair Brown ILB
4 Samson Ebukam OLB
These additions add super athletes and super productive players who project well to the NFL.
Kupp you envision as slot this year or in general. Also we know engram is a freak, how do you envision using him(2 TE sets, big body WO in 3 WR sets, constantly motioning etc.)?

Lobo,
Moton would be third on my OG list, after Lamp and Robinson However, I think he is a perfect RT. I don't see issues there.

Smoke,
Kupp is a slot. I think he can play outside as well, but better in the center of the field. Engram is a moveable piece: Inside, outside, as an H-back. He creates a mismatch wherever he goes. Some people bash Engram for his blocking, but I think they are looking at his size and projecting that analysis. I thought he blocked quite well this year, underrated in my book.

Can you share your thoughts on whether or not the Niners will make any trade ups/downs in the first three rounds?
I understand that sometimes this depends on who is on the board, but for some reason this feels like a draft where we are not very active. I actually think there will be more demand for our pick at 34 then 2.

Agreed on people staring at 34 more than 2. I'd like them try to trade down from 34, not 2. If we could acquire an additional 3rd or 4th by moving down some slots, I would probably like the trade (depending on who is on the board at 34).
Every year, you stare at your board at disbelief that someone is still out there. Such was the case last year for me when I saw Kenneth Dixon and Jatavis Brown available well into Day Three.

Curious.. what has CB Awuzie suddenly done to have flown up so many draft boards over the last week or two?

I am not sure he is making a dramatic climb up GM's and coaches' boards in recent weeks, but he is becoming more known to writers and people who follow the draft. Just more ink and attention.
That being said: he is a 6' (5'11 3/4"), corner who runs in the low 4.4's and played at a high level for Colorado. Athletic, smart, breaks well on the ball, has good ball skills. Nice recovery skills. Second round talent for me, and probably going in the top 45 picks. Nice player for a team to add.

Not bad but I think I wouldn't mind seeing Hooker and Peppers with our 1st and 2nd.

MD, I saw your board and what selections you would do if GM. Is there a scenario where you would trade down if Ryan Switzer was in a sweetspot area and select him over your Cooper Kupp pick?
I think Switzer is a phenomenal player who does a lot good, and a couple things great. (Return game and vision)

This team NEEDS edge rushers...badly. 2nd biggest need behind QB.

MD, with Hyde not extended, I feel they will have to grab a back that can contribute next year. In the mid rounds, who are your favorites that that are not change of pace guys?

I like the idea of adding size in the slot to compensate the lack we have outside. Definite very intrigued with Kupp who should be there in the 3rd when we pick. I like the idea of Engram and Vance as a two headed monster TE duo. Both can split out wide, motion etc. mismatches.

Yeah I've been preparing myself to move down from 34 if we stay at two, but at the end of the day I think we find a partner tomtrade down in the 1st.

I'm passing, I think we got a similar and possibly better player in Redmond.

McKinley on one side and Harris/Rivers sounds really good. I'm not gonna have an issue if we just go one pass rusher with Lynch,Brooks,Harold,Tank,Watson on the team. Only two spots. We can go all day lol...so ready.

Can you compare the top three OT (Ramczyk, Cam, Bolles) in regards to scheme fit for us?
IMO, is want someone who can pass block and get out on zone runs. (Seems like Ramczyk, no?).

So according to maddog's projections, there is an abundance of elephant types towards the bottom of the first round and early second. I'd still take thomas with the 2 just because I'm not sold on our interior yet. I'd rather have a top tier talent even if it puts one of our recent top draft picks on the bench or in a rotational role. We have to start somewhere and top end talent isn't a bad way to start. I want to keep the #2 pick and grab garret, thomas or a FS with that number 2 pick.
