Would you trade #2 and Brooks for Trumaine Johnson and Aaron Donald?

brooks will barely get you a 7th pick, the trade value does not change at all if we add brooks, he doesnt add anything.

This all day. I don't even think Brooks gets us a 7th round pick. Chances are none of the players in this draft turn out to be as good as Aaron Donald. He's one of the 4-5 best defensive players in the league.

Allen does not have the potential to be a better 3 down player than Donald. He's about the same size, but not as strong and not nearly as athletic and he has serious injury concerns (shoulders). Donald was 6'1 285 at the combine, ran a 4.68 40, didn't have the injury concerns, and was far more productive in college. Allen is 6'3 286, is a good but not elite athlete, and has serious injury concerns which could drop him outside the top 10 picks.
um, is this a trick question? donald is a top five dl. two more years of that on the cheap? sure. unlikely we will draft that at 2 unless the browns blow it on garrett.

Hell yes you do it. #2 has a lot of value but it's still an unknown player you're drafting and there are no guarantees.

If you can get two elite players at positions of need that you know can not only play in the NFL but at a high level you damn well do it...especially when we still have a ton of cap space.

How is this even a question?

Exactly. There is no way the Rams would do this deal. We wouldn't be the one turning it down.

Johnson most likely walks next year if nobody gives them a second or a high to mid third. Don't get it twisted guys... the only reason I made this thread is cause they're bringing in Allen for a visit and Donald only has two more years on his deal. Why would they bring in Allen with no first rounder?..they're willing to give up something good.

Maybe because:

3-4

Donald ---- Brockers ---- SomeGuyNotAsGoodAsAllen
No, only because the drop off from Thomas to Donald does not out-weight the cost of paying for Aaron Donald in a few years.

Depends on how you run your team, how much you like value.

I don't get what you're trying to say lol. Would you guys entertain a package of Trumaine Johnson,Michael Brockers, their second rounder for #2? Brockers goes to the 1T and is that big body everyone wanted this off season. Day one starter in Trumaine, and I still think Brooks can be very valueable as he's experienced and healthy to help run their 3-4.
Threads like this suck because they get your hopes up for a second.

No chance Rams trade Aaron Donald. He could have been defensive player of the year in 2015. And was a runner up on 2016. That's like raiders trading Mack or Texans trading Clowney.

They don't have a first this year... so they'll have a new fresh body that you can argue might end up fitting their system better for the next 5 years, and they won't have to pay Donald that 15-20 mill a year. Heck with the money difference they can keep Trumaine Johnson if they really want, but in a deep DB class they might want to move him now and try and squeeze an extra fourth out of us this year.

Dial,Blair can possibly be trade candidates to them as well. I'm not saying chances are good, but hypothetically I think we can come up wina package that helps both teams. Rams aren't making the playoffs this year...might be a good time for them to create some cap space and go younger, better scheme fits.

My bad for s**tting on your thread, didn't realize you were the original poster haha. I'd be all over the trade if it were possible . Don't see it though at all. They don't have any early draft picks besides Goff the last two years, so they need to keep all the talent they got. Plus the owner is ballin and in LA now, he ain't penny pinching for sure. Then throw in that we're in their division and they wouldn't wanna go up against Donald the next 6 years or so, killin their young QB.

Nah you didn't what so ever. We'll be killing Goff in the next six years with that OL they got lol...they're in a mess over there.
Are you entertaining Trumaine and Brockers with picks from them? Or that's a no as well. If they gave us their second this year and next, I'll throw in our fourth round comp pick along with a player like Brooks/Dial if they want. Then the Rams still have a high 3rd and three 4ths.

In the 3rd they take a WR. Next three picks they can OLB,OL,DB.

Then we'd have Two seconds,a third, a fourth and two picks from rounds 5-7.

With our seconds and third I'd target a DE,SAM&DB. Bowser/Watt at SAM and Rivers/Lawson, along with a DB for those 3 picks would be great.

BASE

Buck-Brockers-AA-Rivers OR Lawson/Blair

PASS DOWNS

Bowser/Watt/Brooks- Buck&AA in the middle- Rivers OR Lawson

After going through this I made it work and if we hit on our seconds and third it could be a great trade. I think it's Donald or bust doe after going through this projection. Don't forget we'd also get a second rounder next year.
