Draft Rumors Thread

I'm not sure. I think Lynch and a few scouts attended the pro-day and worked him out, but maybe not Shanahan.

I'm super pumped! Can't wait to see if another team comes on the clock at #2
All this talk of QB's going top 10 feels like screens from teams wanting to get their preferred player to slide.

Sam Darnold, USC
Josh Rosen, UCLA
Lamar Jackson, Louisville
Josh Allen, Wyoming
Luke Falk, Washington State
Jake Browning, Washington
Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma
Mason Rudolph, Oklahoma State

I'm sure I'm missing a few. Obviously a lot can change with injuries, performance etc. but I think next years QB class is way better then this years.

Thats my take as well, but I also wouldn't be surprised if a number of those guys get downgraded by the time the 2018 draft comes around. "Next years" QB class always gets overhyped.

Browning, Falk, Mayfield are key candidates to fall. Browning has a noodle; I watched him throw in person from the sideline of a UW practice. Good location: NO zip. Falk is one concussion away from being a major red flag, Mayfield has a character flag and he's short.

Rudolph needs to improve his short are accuracy, Rosen needs to show an upward trajectory (new weapons should help), Darnold could clean up his windup to make his release more efficient/quicker, Allen is every bit as talented and wild as Mahomes, Jackson needs to become a QB.

Tons of talent, plenty of warts
Matt Maiocco says Solomon Thomas. Like it or not, he's rarely wrong, he's the one who said Tomsula was gonna be coach.

Or teams in the top 10 increasing the trade value of their picks.

I am okay with this.

Most of the board probably isn't though.

If we stay at 2 it's going to be Solomon Thomas. Hopefully we trade down

Exactly. A number of those guys are great college players but do have some concerns translating to the pro game that will get them downgraded. It's not as great a draft class as it currently appears, it never is.

Glad Maiocco isn't making the pick

Mahomes reported a few weeks back that he had a private workout with a team, but that the team wanted to remain anonymous, and he wanted to respect their wishes. Same week, Shanahan said he would conduct a few private workouts, but he din't want to name the QBs. It since came out that he conducted private sessions for Trubisky and Webb. That's 2 QBs. A few is most generally 3-5.

Better than Adams. I'm on board.

That a lot Maiocco for ruining it.
Not gonna like Solomon but I'm not gonna condemn Lynch because he picked someone I don't like.
