Word has gotten out...

Let the parade begin

Oh I hope so!

I've been saying it..

If thats their guy, they will not play around and gamble with him. They will take him #1 if they think he's the one and I believe they are sold on him being their guy.

What if we trade for that Cousins kid, doe?

I had a strange vision last night about this.

Lynch keeps talking about how the leaks are patched, how everything coming out (which is all over the place) should be taken with a grain of salt. Outside of it all, things seem a bit quiet.

I don't know why, but there's a funny gut feeling in me that says a crazy trade like that happens.
"Could the Browns actually take Mitchell Trubisky with the first pick?"

"It's a possibility that seems absolutely absurd, but accoridng to Adam Schefter, the Browns may actually be considering selecting UNC quarterback Mitchell Trubisky with the first overall pick."

They cannot afford to lose him...
"Close your eyes and imagine we traded Kirk Cousins on draft day to the 49ers for their No. 2 pick and, let's just say, a third-round pick," Smoot said. "Now that's giving the Redskins two first-round picks and a top three pick. Let's say we trade down from that second pick to No. 10, and now we have three first-round picks, and we get [Clemson quarterback] DeShaun Watson, [Alabama defensive lineman] Jonathan Allen and [Stanford running back] Christian McCaffrey. Have we not won the draft?"

Remember the 2000 draft when CLE took can't-miss pass rush prospect Courtney Brown? I'm not saying that Garrett will bust, just making an observation. Brown's career was largely curtailed by injury.

Courtney Brown: 6'4⅞" 271-pounds, ran a 4.52 forty, had a vertical leap of 37" and bench-pressed 225 pounds 26 times.
Myles Garrett: 6'4" 272-pounds, ran a 4.64 forty, had a vertical leap of 41" and bench-pressed 225 pounds 33 times.

A couple of other interesting parallels to the 2000 draft.

Jamal Lewis: 6'0" 240-pounds, ran a 4.58 forty
Leonard Fournette: 6'0" 240-pounds, ran a 4.51 forty

There was no surefire top QB either (although Tom Brady went in the 6th - he's been servicable) - Chad Pennington was the first one taken at pick 18.

Okay, I clearly have a bad case of pre-draftarrhea

Do you have a comparison of Brown's production versus Garrett's in college (I really don't know)? **Browns front office stop reading now!**** I find it hard for someone that had better production than Von Miller will be known as an epic bust like Brown 20 years from now.

I struggled to find Courtney Brown's total college stats.

Defensive end, 1999, Alvin, S.C., selected by the Associated Press, Football Coaches, Football Writers, Walter Camp, The Sporting News and The Football News. He also was a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Rotary Lombardi Award and Chuck Bednarik Award. Brown shattered school records for career tackles for loss (70) and sacks (33) and the season mark for TFL (29). A three-year starter, he was tied for third in Big Ten career TFL and was named 1999 Big Ten Defensive Player-of-the-Year. The fourth Nittany Lion selected All-Big Ten three times, he finished his brilliant career by earning the Hall Foundation Award as the team's Senior MVP. He made 55 tackles (33 solo), with 29 TFL (minus-150), 13.5 sacks (minus-107), an interception (TD) and three forced fumbles. The Cleveland Browns selected Brown as the first overall pick of the 2000 National Football League Draft. He has played with the Browns (2000-04) and Denver Broncos (2005-06). He signed with San Diego prior to the 2007 season. Brown lives in St. Stephen, S.C.

Courtney Brown:
70 tackles for a loss, 33 sacks

Myles Garrett:
141 tackles, 47 tackles for a loss, 31 sacks, 1 interceptions, 7 forced fumbles

Thanks! I will refer to this in my mind if we don't end up Garrett. History will repeat.
Does anyone have a photoshop of Myles in a niner uniform?

I would hate that trade. 2nd overall pick and a third rounder for Cousins? A QB we'll then have to invest 25 million a year? No thanks. I'd consider swapping firsts for him and that would be as high as I'd go.

#2 overall pick for Kirk Cousins is not happening, now Kirk Cousins + the #17 pick and a 3rd might work.

Well we will let the front office decide. Garrett isn't a sure thing. Every year there are "sure" things and they flop lol

I expect him to be good, but it isn't a sure thing.

Not happening. No way we don't get their first in return for ours.

Sounds like Fred Smoot should be put back in the drug program...
This draft is too loaded to give all that up for Cousins who will be a free agent next year.

Shanalynch just signed a 6 year contract. Let's all take a deep breathe and realize we will build through the draft + Baalke is not drafting..

More Mayock: #Titans could move back at 5 and 18, in a great spot for both. 5 because of QB situation, 18 if someone wants to come up for an OL.

One would have to have their eyes closed to dream up a trade like that. We aren't giving up anything to get Cousins a year early.

Now open your eyes Washington and come back to reality lol...that would never happen and people in the real world know it!
