Potential: possible, as opposed to actual.

I guess everyone coming into the NFL has potential to be a hall of famer.

His dilemma is there isn't any one player He & Coach feel strongly enough about to take at #2. If the rumor WRT Carolina pans out and they end up picking at #8 it really opens up a number of players they wouldn't take at #2.

So you shutdown peoples opinion then proceed to say yours is more likely. Oh OK.

The thing about LF is that it is not a stretch that he could become the best rb in the league.
How do you not take that?

That was soooooo five years ago bae . Cmon Lynch, take Sidney Jones with our fifth if he's there. Brock finishes out his contract. A hopeful win-win.

I bet there's 32 teams that love Fournette and Foster.

Per my own intuition the 49ers are leaking that they are in love with Reuben Foster and Leonard Fournette at the 2nd overall pick because they think the Panthers are in love with Reuben Foster or Leonard Fournette, and are trying to induce them to trade up to #2, which is higher than you'd otherwise have to trade to get either of these guys.

This. There is no good reason for the 49ers to leak this info.

This is actually a good reason why the 49ers might leak this information.

You win the run on sentence award

if fournette was gore, adrian peterson, or emmitt smith, would you still think like this? Fournette is a potential HOF RB, we shouldn't pass him up.

Lets not call him a HOFer without playing a single snap of NFL football.

Conversely., let's not say it 'makes no sense' to take him that early either, also without knowing how good he might be? Let's face it, all of us here don't know chit compared to the people paid to do the job. Whoever they take, whatever pick they take them in, they have my benefit of the doubt unless they prove to be a bust. Then any criticism is fair at that point.

Hyde is a free agent after this season, so drafting his replacement might not be a bad idea.

Or you could draft his replacement with the intent of trading Hyde. The problem is, particularly with his injury history, you will most likely not get a fair return.
