If he makes it to us at 34, any chance we don't take him??? Keeps ward at corner, allows us to move reid, and take a pass rusher in the 1st -- not hooker. Still hoping we move back from 2 and add another 2nd.

i dont see why not. If he wants to be a corner then imagine if his play matches at athletic ability. Robinson and him together But as a safety he can use his full range and could be fun to watch.

Taylor Mays?

Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times believes Dolphins S Reshad Jones' extension will affect negotiations between the Seahawks and walk-year SS Kam Chancellor.

Jones' deal works out to be a five-year, $60-million pact with $35 million guaranteed, making him one of the highest-paid safeties in the league along with Eric Berry, who also just landed a new deal. Chancellor plays a more defined and limited role than those two, but the ever-increasing safety market means he will certainly be looking for a raise on the $7 million average from his last deal. With Earl Thomas already making $10 million a year, Seattle will have some tough decisions to make this summer.

Very promising player, I have him ranked as a high 2nd rounder. He needs to end up in the right defnse, however

Pete did pass on Taylor Mays for a lesser athlete in Earl Thomas.

First thing I thought of was Taylor Mays. Another physical freak S who catches everybody's eye - but will Melifonwu be any better?

Taylor Mays had straight line speed, but very stiff hips. Mays has had poor football IQ, wasn't able to diagnose plays, didn't read a QBs eyes, and just did not have good football skills. Mays should have added weight and tried to play LB IMO.

Melifonwu has more fluid hips, better change of direction skills, and shows a lot more football IQ. He projects well as the next Kam.

I don't know if Obi can play CB. I don't see a guy that has enough agility, backpedal skils, and recovery speed to play corner. Of course if he ends up playing corner, I guess I'm wrong! I just think he looks much better as a in-the-box run shutdown safety that can blanket TEs or patrol the middle of the field.

I haven't seen enough of him playing on the line against a WR to project him out as a corner.

I know, me too Krizay put up a dream scenario with Cleveland giving us #12,#33,and #50 for #2... If this happened we cud probably still get Thomas , but cud go with Obi and say Mc. Caffery, or stud PR/DE ??
