Pro tip: you won't find any.

I find it everywhere. You are the only person I have heard who doesn't agree. A webzone poster pretending to know about a player. Shocking!!!

The team needs an elite-level talent like it did when it had Aldon Smith. One way the team can address the position is by drafting a pass rusher in the second round like Stanford's Solomon Thomas or UCLA's Takkarist McKinley.

Of course, if Texas A&M's Myles Garrett is available at the No. 2 overall spot, the 49ers should draft him and solidify the LEO.

LEO: Solomon Thomas Backup: Aaron Lynch 3rd String: Eli Harold

Defensive Tackle/Nose: Earl Mitchell Backup: Ian Williams 3rd String: Glenn Dorsey

Defensive Tackle: DeForest Buckner Backup: Quinton Dial 3rd String: Ronald Blair

Left Defensive End: Arik Armstead Backup: Ronald Blair 3rd String: Quinton Dial

Once again, if you're going to make a claim, provide reasoning and evidence to warrant your claim. This isn't madden where you can pick a player and move him to where ever you'd like. You can't just spin the dial and put a player at whatever position it lands on. Solomon Thomas has never played as an edge rusher; he's never dispayed edge rushing traits. Please stop cluttering this thread.

An excerpt from NINER NOISE is not evidence. hahahahahahahahah SMH.

Can't do that in madden anymore lol I wanted to put kap at WR and I couldn't

What are you talking about? He has played all over the line, inside and outside. I guess you have never seen college DEs play OLB in the NFL.

Except he's a 5tech DE at Stanford, not a 4-3 DE. He was almost always head up on the tackle or bumped inside at 1tech or 3tech. Might want to learn the difference before you engage in football discourse.

If you gentlemen can't engage in a discussion about players without resorting to personal attacks and sniping, you will be suspended from the DWR until after the draft is over.

Lol, nope not in the NFL. How many 270 lb interior lineman do you see in the NFL? He is a Leo or OLB at the next level. He does have the versatility to play multiple positions which makes him all the more valuable.

Micheal Bennett is 6-4 274

love Thomas but he's not a LEO IMO

Yup, I love Thomas. I was raving about him in his thread, but you're right, he's simply not a leo.

here's a simple, concise definition I found when I was researching who the other 3 teams(SEA, ATL, JAX*) that use this defense. It might be helpful for others on here:

LEO stands for:

(LINEMEN END OPEN) - in short, it is the defensive lineman that plays to the open end of the formation. What is the open end of the formation? The weak side away from the tight end. He is the smallest of the linemen because you are looking for explosion and speed, that is a must. He doesn't necessarily have to be small but you cant trade away size for speed at this position because of the way he is aligned. By design, he doesn't have to do anything but get up the field and squeeze down if it's a run.

I think Charles Harris is the best fit. He reminds me of Cliff Avril. I bet Anthony Davis is still having nightmares of Avril's speed rush in the NFCC.

The problem is with Harris is that might go in between our first and second pick. If they like him, Lynch will likely have to do what Baalke did last year and move up a little to secure him.

Vince Biegel (later round guy, not our starter)

smh why don't people understand the obvious
AA is a better run stopper
Buck is a better pass rusher

AA at DT
Buck at RDE
Who is fast enough to chase Wilson down?
There are a couple guys after Garrett & Barnett who'd be great candidates for the Leo position. As noted above, Charles Harris is definitely one. Another guy I like a lot is Jordan Willis (Kan St.). 6-3, 255, 11.5 sacks 17.5 TFL, 3 batted passes, 3 forced fumbles. Very effective setting the edge and rushing the QB. There's a lot to like about both guys...and I'd be stoked with either one.

Tanoh Kpassagnon - Has all the talent you need at the position.
LEO prospects I've looked at so far:

Tim Williams, Alabama - an explosive and disruptive player, but with a lot of off-field baggage. I doubt we draft him because I think he will go late in the 1st. His skill set is comparable to Bruce Irvin, and similarly he probably wont be asked to play End due to concerns on him setting the edge.

Ejuan Price, Pitt - Has injury concerns and is older than most rookies. Plus he is likely too undersized to be full time at LEO. But he has the athleticism in space and burst to be the pass rusher at LEO

Charles Harris, Mizzou - As has been pointed out, he is probably the best ideal LEO with sufficient burst of the snap, speed on the outside, and able to seal the edge.

CBS has Harris ranked as the #32 player. So depending on how the draft unfolds, he very well could be off the board by our 2nd round pick.

Some guys going to Combine I haven't finished taking a look at but potential later round guys:
Tarrell Basham, Ohio
Josh Carraway, TCU
Dylan Donahue, West Georgia
Avery Moss, Youngstown State
Noble Nwachukwu, West Virginia
Ifeadi Odenigbo, Northwestern
Carroll Phillips, Illinois
Garrett Sickels, Penn St
NY posted the link already, my bad.. Disregard
