We can get thomas and have a s**tty secondary or we can get hooker and have possibly an elite secondary with decent line play, scheming for pressure.

many analysts state thomas might be too small and get tossed around by good lineman... so that does worry me.

Brock actually ranked out as our best CB last yr (24th in the league) you know who really stunk was Bethea

you love bustin my balls ny

Lol not my intention sorry man...

ats all fun lol. i love it

so why is possibly earl thomas the most important player on their d?There is def. a bigger need at db then dl.

disagree there's a bigger need at DB then DL...outside of Buck we have zero starters. I'd love to see all the great film of AA. Ward IMO can be a fine FS and was a damn good S in college (jim thorpe finalist). pass rush trumps a safety

ok we can disagree there... again lol. but when ward goes to safety which I believe he will never be close to earl thomas. Who plays corner because he was our best?

Tartt
Hooker
Ward
RObinson
Williams
looks way better than

Tarrt
Ward
Williams
Robinson
Johnson?

Dude no one says he has to be Earl Thomas...Hooker isn't Earl Thomas. Earl Thomas actual knows how to tackle.

Why can't Ward be a bigger version of ATL's FS Ricardo Allen? 23rd ranked overall safety and 12th in coverage? Dude was a pretty damn good FS last yr.

Have you not looked at this draft? It's chalk full of CBs, I mean it's one of the deepest drafts I've seen at CB, TE, and RB.

We have Brock and RR on the outside, Redmond who was looked at as a 1st rd pick before getting hurt is 100%, they signed Williams to play slot, and I'd bet money they draft a CB.

Ward was an avg CB...he could be a much better FS which was his natural position in college.

Lynch already stats Ward is moving to safety

gotta be able to stay on the field to make plays and to be effective.
ward has yet to prove he can stay on the field

and with people saying he can be "the earl thomas" for us....
Earl thomas is about 10lbs heavier, yet 1 inch shorter, yet moves very fast being heavier then ward. that 10lbs is quite a bit when it's 10lbs of muscle.

Is he better than Adams from LSU?

I think we trade down and go SS with the 1st pick

Last I saw hooker was currently injuried with a torn labrum? You want to draft a safety who's already got banged up shoulders? Ward doesn't have to be earl Thomas why can't get be Allen in ATL? He's a fine FS and Ward is actually bigger than him....and IMO hooker isn't earl Thomas.
Buddha Baker may be the dude we need and we can get him in the 2nd round.

It's his hip labrum, and he's already had surgery. Plus with that and a sports hernia he still balled against Clemson who schemed away from him

I thought it was his shoulder? Regardless still injuried...he balled so hard that they lost 31-0

Lol you just love to spin things and start s**t

Regarding the Clemson game (and by bringing it up, it makes me question if you've really watched the vid I linked you ):

They challenged the outside almost exclusively specifically trying to avoid Hooker.

So...It was Hooker's fault that:
  1. Tyler Durbin (K, Ohio State) missed two 47-yard field goals in the game's first nine minutes
  2. Ohio State's running game in the first half: 0.7 ypc
  3. J.T. Barrett didn't show up in the first half
  4. Ohio State couldn't move the ball, even though Hooker and Conley each picked off Watson

Watson: 23/36 259yds 1TD 2INT 76.3 QBR - not exactly lighting it up?

He did a lot of damage on the ground (57 yards, 2 TD), but I guess you're blaming Hooker for that?

Oh and that one time, when Hooker lined up on the left hash, so Watson threw it deep right sideline? ( In this, he's hurt, by the way )

No it's showing that having a stud safety still doesn't do much in the grand scheme of things does it?

Also how many times you gonna show that clip we know lol...oh and I watched the game my friend.

You brought up the Clemson game. You get the gif!

Clemson game planned around Hooker. Ohio State just decided to not show up. How is that one guys fault?

And I'm still pretty sure you didn't watch the vid I linked.

Yo I didn't bring it up go read back...I'm not saying he's a bad prospect cause he's not, I'm saying safety simply isn't worth the 2nd overall pick it's just not...I'll take Buddha baker/ Marcus Williams in the 2nd or actually see what a guy who's actually on our team in Ward can do.
