There's big risk in trading down from #9 to #15 and hoping no team between 10-14 take Landry. It's a vital position and teams should be reaching a bit if they identify a guy they like.

yup, honestly if he's the guy you want just draft him...GB will take him at 14 and what's the value in moving down to 11th or 13th (maybe a 3rd to move to 13).

Edge rush is sooooo important and you aren't getting guys in FA. I'm all for drafting a couple pass rushers this yr if we can get a couple things done in FA.

Detroit is all over him too. Seen a bunch of articles from every team he talked to hyping him up.

yeah I've seen that as well.
With all the top pass rusher in FA getting tagged. We need Landry to be the pick more than ever.

I've been thinking this since day one if pass rushers in FA get locked up.

Vinny Curry anyone?
This was my mock before the combine....

1 - Trade down with Arizona for #15, their 2nd rounder
1 - Harold Landry - SAM/LEO
2a. Ronald Jones - RB
2b. James Daniels - future at C
3a. Quenton Meeks - CB to groom
3b. Lorenzo Carter - SAM/LEO
4. Austin Corbett - G to groom
5. Troy Fumagalli - TE
6. Korey Robertson - WR
7a. Skai Moore - OLB
7b. Jester Weah - WR

That's definitely not happening anymore. Landry and Daniels basically squashed any chance of that happening. Corbett helped his case and someone will snatch up Carter after his big numbers.

My only hope is that with Ronald Jones not putting up huge numbers NFL teams are stupid enough to let him slide to our 2nd rounder.

Jones could damn well slide for us to get within striking distance.

Every year we over value a pick and I think its Landry this year. I think early-mid teens is still a safe spot for him.

Daniels, Corbett, Fumagalli are all going earlier than initial projections

So "early-mid teens", for example spot #13, is okay to select Landry, but at #9 is a reach you don't want the 49ers taking?

Lol. Yeah, Seems like a negligible difference

In a perfect world we trade down a couple spots, but in reality if we want Landry, we should just take him at #9. With Buckner excelling, Thomas improving and adding Landry I think we could have a good pass rush in 2018 and beyond.

I wouldn't mind doubling up in rushers and maybe look to draft Josh Sweat in the 3rd if he's available.

Of course, we all do. But I feel the later the draft goes, the harder it is to predict. For all we know, OAK might be looking at a partner for KMack and is considering Landry at #10. If the 49ers like Landry, I think the risk is too great to consider trading down, especially with how Landry has improved his stock from the combine.

Good chance Smith and Edmunds are available when we pick, so the Raiders have both sitting as well.

Oakland-LB
Miami-QB
Cincinnati-OL
Washington-Not Sure
Green Bay-Not Sure
AZ-QB
The best part of today is learning that NY and genus both like Landry, so at least I won't get prison gang-r*&p$d by the two of them like last year.
Thoughts on joe ostam? Watched his tape not the fastest on earth but the dude gets there every time. Central Michigan let's not forget that's Joe Staley's alma mater. Watch his tape just don't want to reach for a guy at 9 when we can trade down and still get quality. For the life of me I can't find home in any mock drafts. Thoughts

GB could be the spot and we have no idea if a team wants to move ahead of them to get a pass rusher...no reason to get cute on a edge rusher so you can get an extra 3rd.
