Ejuan Price-DE/OLB-Pitt

Another player I've waited too long to make a thread about, this is a guy that I'd love the 49ers to take a flyer on in the middle rounds. All sorts of reasons why this guy shouldn't work out in the NFL, too short, not enough length but all he does is produce and make plays happen. He was among the top players in the country in TFL's and sacks, he just finds ways to get it done and I think that his motor, determination and work ethic could all translate to the NFL to make him at least an effective role player. He has all the traits you want from a dominant pass rusher outside of the measurables, he's explosive off the edge, has a great first step, outstanding spin move, uses his hands well and holds up against the run pretty well too. He'll be overlooked because he lacked the measurables but the dude has heart and never quits, is always fighting and I'd love to see a guy like that on the 49ers.

This. Lots of reasons why the guy CAN'T succeed but I see someone with the potential to at least be a useful rotational pass rusher. He isnt a Michael Sam type limited by size as well as strength and athleticism.

I think he might surprise a lot of people at the NFL level.

He's the reason why it's great to have so many mid level draft picks.

Not sure if that is a fair comparison because Dumervil has been so productive but I think Price has the talent to overcome his size limitations in a similar way. He's one of those players that I like everything that I hear about him, the sort of teammate he is, about how hard he works, his overall mindset, I think some lucky team is going to get a pretty good player.

Beyond size, the main concerns about him are injury and age(he'll be 24) but for the impact he can provide and where he likely will wind up going in the draft(4th to 5th round if medicals check out), I'd be down for drafting him.

Liked Harold Landry Boston College yesterday in his bowl game. Really long arms, good athlete.

i guess we'll find out next monday if a player like ejuan price will be taken into consideration. i doubt baalke or his guys would be fans of ejuan price. he's probably going to come in at 5'11" with 29" arms. baalke has never drafted an OLB with shorter than 33" arms.
