We got to make sure we get that #2 spot...no stupid wins. Jags and Bears need to get one more win.

I'm calling it right now.

Niners beat the Dolphins.

Bears lose

Jags lose

Niners have the 4th pick by the end of Sunday night.

Ajayi is gonna run all over us lol

If Garrett is not there at 2, then I would like the 49ers to trade back to 10 and pick up that LSU running back. And on top of that, we would have another 2nd round pick to play with.
Nope...that's exactly what we don't need to do. Baalke or whomever the GM is should trade down, not up to garner more high picks. One player's not going to make that much difference...several top players most likely will.
Trade back and grab as many high picks as possible. Let MadDog, AB and OTC create the Draft Board. Talent Infusion.

one of the rare times I disagree with you. Getting a premium player of this calibre, a real impact player, should be top of the priorities. Hopefully we wont have another shot at getting such a player for years. The various other holes can be filled with lower picks and FAs. But pass rushers and qb's need to be prioritised, and the best pass rusher in the draft could be ours. Then we trade back up to secure the first attempt at our qbotf. The rest can wait.
Just stay put. Even though I can't see us losing 15 straight, I think it is safe to say that we will pick in the top four. That should get us a top prospect. Garrett is my draft crush too, but we are so depleted of talent that if not him, then someone else could help us.

My draft crush last year was Buckner, and I was delighted he fell to us. But even at #7 we were beautifully placed to pick up a great talent - if not him then Bosa (who's looking pretty good), Tunsil (these were the pre-bong days) or whoever. I wasn't keen on any of the QBs, like I'm not this year, but they too could help.

Top 4 is a great place to be. Just stay put and use the late round picks to get in some talent to help out too. No more all-ACL team. No more punters in the 5th.

Did the niners figure out how to stop the run? Have you been watching Phins games lately? They've won 5 straight running the ball.

This is the only way I'd consider it. That's if somehow we were drafting number 1 overall. And even then, I am not interested in trading back too far. If a team is coming with an RG3 type of trade, we can talk.

yep. Exactly. If Garrett is somehow there you take him otherwise you have to move down and get picks.

If they want Garrett they'll take him at 1. Luckily they're not that bad at that position and reports are they prefer Mitch or Allen.

I'd say the biggest issue with trading up for the top spot is Clv can be also talking to a team willing to give up the mega haul. Look what Wenz and Goff brought.

Good call.
I understand the value of a player like Garrett...however, unless the Niner FO beefs up our DL significantly, taking an elite PR with our 1st pick has less value. Aldon Smith was great primarily because of Justin Smith. We have two young twin towers who should develop into fine players, but there's no depth of any consequence beyond them & Dorsey. I still think Blair has a lot of potential...but O'Neil needs to figure out how to best use him. We just don't have much DL quality depth....as Denver showed in the last SB, having it (and a DC who knows how to use it) can win championships. All this is a long way of saying again, the Niners need to trade down to acquire more talent at a variety of positions. It's the best elixir I know of to get better sooner instead of later.

This isn't true. I don't know why people keep saying this.

When Aldon had like 20 sacks, 8 or 9 of them came on plays where he was on the opposite side of the field as JSmith or when JSmith wasn't on the field at all.

Aldon was one of the best pass rushers in the league with or without JSmith.
Hell no. We have way too many holes to give away draft picks. Stand pat at whatever slot we end up in, and draft.

No. there is no sense on trading up or trading down. We need too many players to trade just for 1 -3 spots. To trade down is dumb also they will end up jacking that up picking 3rd talent in the 1st rd.

Agree

We need at least one impact guy.
