I've been thinking about making this this thread for awhile and after today's game vs EMU, Terrell definitely deserves his own thread . Even if he won't be a high draft pick, he's still an intriguing QB prospect. He's obviously benefited from having one of the top receivers in the country in Corey Davis and playing against a lower level of competition but he's showed constant progress every single year in college and has been handled PJ Fleck's offense very well.
He is on the smaller side, around 6'1", 200 pounds, doesn't have the greatest arm strength but he's a smart and efficient passer with a penchant for making big plays. Mobile but not much of a rush threat, he has a quick release and has shown improvement in his passing mechanics, particularly his footwork.
So far this season, in 8 games he has thrown for 2,001 yards, 9.4 yards per attempt, 20 TD's and 1 INT.
Highest Rated QBs vs FBS Winning (min 3 gm, 100 att) 1. Zach Terrell 2. Baker Mayfield 3. Mike White 4. Sam Darnold 5. Patrick Mahomes
As Western Michigan climbed to their first ever Associated Press Top-25 ranking, what went virtually unnoticed was the play of quarterback, Zach Terrell. Terrell, a former two-star quarterback out of Fort Wayne, Ind. who struggled to receive collegiate offers, now ranks amongst the nation's best in several statistical categories. In fact, Terrell ranks No. 23 in the country in passing yards and No. 8 nationally in passing touchdowns with 20. Aside from the national accolades, the senior has thrown only one interception this fall while also ranking top-three in completion percentage (72.2%). As his Bronco career comes to an end, Terrell is certainly making a name for himself in Kalamazoo. As the wins keep coming, more attention is garnished to the gunslinger.
Trubisky's the guy...right size, good arm, very accurate and excellent decision-maker. It wouldn't hurt to draft another QB they could put on PS, but that's a somewhat risky deal, a lot of teams would be tempted to grab 'em if they're decent. Guess it comes down to how many vets Kelly wants to keep. Hard to see him going with one vet and two rookies...
