What would you give up to New England for the rights to Jimmy Garropolo??

If your trading for him your going to extending him as soon as it happens IMO.

There will be a market for him this off season and supply and demand will determine his value and I'll will bet money (if the pats let him go) it will be more than then a 3rd round pick.

Bradford does not have mostly bad tape. He's been good everywhere he's been but the talent around him has not. There's a reason the Eagles gave up Foles and a 2nd round pick for him even though he was coming off a serious injury and hadn't played football in a year. There's also a reason the Vikings then gave up a 1st round pick for him. Teams around the league value Sam Bradford even with his injury history, because he's shown he's a solid NFL starting QB even though he's been stuck on horrible rosters.

Bradford went from having no talent on offense in LA to a little talent on offense in Philidelphia and he played like one of the best QB's in the league over the 2nd half of 2015. He's still on an offense without much talent in Minnesota (bad offensive line, missing Peterson and both starting OT's on offense and averaging 2.5 yards per carry in the running game) and he's 2nd in the league in passer rating through 4 games. This guy is a franchise QB - the only issue with Bradford is that he can't stay healthy. Rivers and Luck are the only QB's I can think of who have had this kind of success with so little talent around them (that's not to say guys like Rodgers can't, but they haven't had to).

"In an 11-game span dating back to Nov. 8, 2015, Bradford has completed 68.9 percent of his passes with a 16:4 touchdown-to-interception ratio and a 101.2 passer rating."

Compare that with Jimmy Garopollo who has 2 starts on a very good team after spending 2 years learning the offense.

There are a ton of recent articles about Garopollo being worth a 1st round pick, but that's related to a number of people not understanding Sam Bradford's value because they're just looking at statistics. A lot of people on these boards seemed to think Kaepernick was worth more than Garopollo, because he put up better statistics with a much better supporting cast, but now we all know Kaepernick isn't worth anything. Garoppolo is worth something, but it's much less than what Bradford was worth.

684 passing yards for his career. Hasn't really done much to be worthy of giving up more than a 5th round pick For him.

Patriot QB's that sit behind Brady are always overrated, not one has yet to do anything after leaving NE.

true. I would give them Harold and a 5th

I can see them asking For someone like Tiller and a 5th. They can make him a pro bowler.

lol that's a slap in the face for NE but if you can get bill drunk and throw that trade out have at it
give them Armstead
Quick question for ya: Of the various QB's that have been Brady backups in New England, and led them to wins, how many have done well elsewhere?

None have. But you knew that just using a stupid argument TBH. How many high draft picks have been used on a Brady back up? 1 Garopollo. Saying you don't want Jimmy cause he Only looks good in Bills scheme means you would pass on getting Brady cuz his scheme is what makes him look good. I don't think we will get Jimmy, and im betting the Cardinals trade for him. He would excel in Arizona more than here. I'll admit if I am wrong but I think Jimmy could be just as good as a Matt Ryan kinda QB. So I think we should get him but I highly highly doubt it would happen.

zero....
I am not convinced about him, but if he is that good they will find a way to get him to stay until Brady hangs them up. Or to put it another way if they are prepared to trade him, it will hint that they know he isnt that good either.

That is a ridiculous argument though. Not every player is the same caliber or talent. If every QB works out in that system, why didnt Ryan Mallett?

Just because some far less talented QBs than Garoppolo didnt work out doesnt mean the same will apply to him. Cassel is the only other guy that had success there and he was a 7th round pick that was a backup QB in college.
Assuming he left New England as a free agent, or if a trade worked out, a team will 100% over pay for him based on a small sample size. Of course he looked pretty good in his 2 starts, but keep in mind he has been in the same system for a few years now with the same WRs like Edelman, Amendola, coaches, scheme etc.

So moving to a whole new system is a different story. Its best to draft a QB IMO.

How is that any different for a rookie QB that we have never once seen go up against NFL competition?
While Jimmy looks promising, his PT as a starting QB is a very small sample size...so I wouldn't give anything up to get him at this point. For his supposed toughness, he sure got hurt quickly. I'd rather draft a QB as things stand now.

How many QBs do you expect to be perfectly fine after being thrown down on their throwing shoulder?

The whole toughness argument is silly. Its not like the guy slipped and fell and got hurt after not being touched.
Phoenix, I didn't base not going after him solely on the fact he got hurt...but one of the "selling" points I've heard about him is how tough he is. The bigger fact is he's only had 2 starts...and that's simply not enough reason to pursue him, IMHO.
