If we pass on garrett and get one of the overrated overhyped first round qb prospects gonna throw up. The qb class has glaring question marks throughout, rounds 1-7. I say grab a qb in 2nd and 4th round and cross your fingers rather than take a qb round 1 and cross your fingers

you're crossing your fingers with every single prospect though. Garrett is absolutely the best pass rusher (arguably the best prospect) in this draft but that doesn't make him a guarantee. Tank Carradine was an unblockable force at FSU and has done absolutely nothing in the NFL, even after moving to the edge where he belongs. He can't even beat one on one situations, something he destroyed at the college level.

The question as to whether we should tank the season is ridiculous. That presumes we have any choice in the matter.

Yeah, the question should be, "Are you going to root for the 49ers to tank the rest of the season to get one of the top picks?"

You're right no prospect is truly a sure thing but Garrett is a straight up stud and as long as he stays healthy he should at least be a terrific pass rush specialist.
Carradine was put through two position changes and was coming off an ACL injury so there were a lot of variables at play with him.
If Garrett is there when we pick I think he should be the guy but a top QB will be awfully tough to pass up.

There is no tanking. They're actually trying to win, that's the sad part.

Well, I am not rooting for that, but I enjoyed your response.

Also i get what you are saying, but the draft is loaded with ???? Qbs. who would you rather have goff or clowney? Easier to pick a position based on physicality than one with intangibles you cannot measure. Tank has yet to be in a 43 de which is what he was, seattle will grab him and he may excel

I think we get the best player available... and build our pass rush,WR and LBs, and we pay Jimmy Grappolo. He showed poise and made somega good throws sure alot of you will say it's bills system but he did it with out the Gronk..He's also been groomed so why not... thoughts

Let CLE have the first pick. Even Baalke couldn't eff that one up. You just take who CLE doesn't take by default of their sorry drafting.

CLE just took a QB. With the 2nd pick in the draft, 49ers select [insert DB].

Everything baalke touches he ruins.
