Bad teams that need a Quarterback

I would much rather have a pocket passing QB who can play for another coach if Chip leaves. And I give Bill and Josh a lot of credit. They have done a great job putting their QBs in a great situation to succeed. We also have a good coach who does the same thing with his QBs. But I liked Jimmy Garopollo when he was drafted. His quick release reminds me of Marino.

How many teams have trade top end 1st rd draft picks for a backup that turned out as a success?

Most recent QB trading involve 2nd round picks. Like Matt Schaub & Alex Smith.

Nothing comes to mind. And if we can get him for 2 2nd round picks or a 2 and a 4 then even better. I'm just not excited about this upcoming draft I liked Falk until you brought up air raid QBs success. That's alarming for him.

Well we are paying 15 million to have a back up QB and still have ample amount of salary cap. I don't think money would be an issue. Now his RO fakes would be like Sam Bradford absolutely no one would bite. But he is repetitively accurate, quick release, works the pocket and is willing to give receivers time to get open. Which backfired causing him to get hurt. But it's better than having a QB who immediately check down (Gabbert)

You need a QB that can run the RO in chips offense...if not its just a shot gun every time it will hurt this offenses running game IMO.

We just disagree it's cool, I don't want to give draft picks and top end money and you're okay with it.

I can live with that not a top 10 pick...I like Kizer and Watson still is a good QB. I prefer this draft class compared to last yr.

Yeah absolutely agreed. Last years QB class was scary cause every QB had a few things they did well but also had many faults in their game. This year it seems like there are more solid QBs than last year.
Chad Kelly will be there for the taking if we happen to win 7-9 games. Watson or Kizer if we suck, Kelly if we are average to good.

New Orleans will mess around and win 7+ games like always. With Brees looking like he can play 2-3 more years I doubt they go QB early.

Washington is definitely one if Cousins continues to suck it up.

Cleveland and Chicago absolutely. Chicago looks like the worst team in the NFC North.

Matching QBs with teams

DeShone Kizer-Cleveland. Big, strong armed QB, a much more talented version of Jason Campbell who played for Hue in Oakland.

Deshaun Watson-San Francisco. Perfect fit for Kelly's offense in every way.

Brad Kaaya-Chicago. More traditional pocket passer with good accuracy to all levels.

Well put, Phoenix.

Kelly is awful. He is basically Jay Cutler Jr. and comes with character issues. No thanks.

What issues has he had since getting to Ole Miss? He appears to have turned the corner and is viewed as a great leader and teammate by Ole Miss...get out of the past. Kelly is a baller

Accuracy is still hot and cold, still struggles to feel the pass rush and ends up getting hammered too often as a result. Along with a long track record of character issues, I'm not really a fan. Don't dislike him nearly as much as I did Connor Cook but I don't see any real improvement, he's the same guy as he was last year.

The AK-47 threat incident happened while he was signed to Ole Miss.

For players that are not QB's, sure I've heard of plenty of redemption stories; but QB is different. I've yet to hear anyone with his baggage have success at the next level. All the top QB's around the league are wired similarly. Not even getting into his terrible mechanics, streaky accuracy, and bad decision making. If you want him he'll be there in the 3rd-5th round for a reason.

Yes, next spring I shall be hoping!

Same guy he was last year? Last year he balled! Completed 65% of his passes, threw for 4,000 yards and 31 TDs with only 13 INTs while playing in a very tough SEC West.

If he can duplicate that this year, he will be a 1st round pick or early 2nd at worst.

He does take some shots but he plays in arguably the best defensive conference so QBs will get hit frequently. On Saturday, I watched him escape the pocket, break a tackle while keeping his eyes downfield and throw a 50 yard dime as he got leveled on the release. Dude is a gamer and is tough as nails
