Alex doesn't suck. KC can wait a year or 2, then... BOOM. If they're smart, they'll stockpile some downfield threats before they turn him loose. That said, I wanted him BAD for the 49ers. Now he's just another dude I'm glad got picked outside the division. Was scared he was gonna be serving up Bombs Away, All Day for Arians in AZ.
Thought he'd be a better fit in Zona's scheme vs say ours or Reid's WCO.
I like the qbs in this upcoming draft more plus I like the possible options in FAs...CJ is a pleasant suprise so far. I'm cool with what we got in the 1st along with the extra picks.
See now we're disagreeing again

. I actually hated the Solly pick leading up to the draft and immediately afterward. I got excited about it when it was reported he was training with everyone who ever had more than 12 sacks in a season EVAR, but then I saw him play in our scheme and he doesn't pop like I'd want a #3 overall DL to do. He seems like he's good at everything, great at several things, but not "OH DAMN" at anything. I thought Mahomes could've fit our scheme, with his release, ball placement, and intelligence, as well as Shanahan's laser focus on developing footwork. I'd love to be wrong, but I think Mahomes could've been a special QB for us (Brett Farve with actual study habits), and I think Solly will be a solid starter with Pro Bowl potential. Not a miss, not a bust, but I wanted to swing for the fences.
Rosen is the only guy I like for Shanahan so far in this draft, but I have a lot more watching to do.
Re: Kizer (trying to make this conversation relate to the thread it's in), I never liked him as a fit here. I don't think he has the skill set to get the ball out quickly, but I could be wrong there. I think he'd be a better fit w/a downfield offense where he can move in the pocket and launch up bombs. Beating the septic tank slurry the Browns have amassed at QB doesn't impress me as much as it does others, but he has a chance to succeed with Hue, who I really respect as an offensive teacher/coordinator (not sure how I feel about him as a HC, but I was excited about his candidacy w/the 49ers last year), and who likes to push the ball downfield. At least they can protect him while he holds the ball.
