So now we will have the middle of the Armstead/Buckner d line in Alex Balducci! I just read that Balducci is going to sign
with us.

Another Duck? Going for The Flying V or what? Lol

@mattbarrows

Confirmed that #49ers will sign rookie free agent DL Alex Balducci. He, Arik Armstead and DeForest Buckner played on same d-line at Oregon.
Called this a month ago. Balducci has a shot. Should eat up space like at Oregon

I agree, I don't like him as a TE, can this kid even block??

Keep him at wideout and see what's up there.
Me too... Dude seemed like a Brandon Marshall clone.

Yeah I'll be surprised if he can block NFL DEs.
I don't see Cajuste making it as a WR with us, he has Smith, Patton, Ellington, Rogers, Smelter, and Burbrdge all ahead, and better suited at WR for us, he can make it at TE over a Busta Anderson or surprise move of dealing Vance.

Balducci could very well be one of the 7 DL heading into 2016, especially if Dorsey/Ian aren't ready to start the season.

Lake is a kid I think could make it as a backup NT, like Balducci.

So I think it's Cajuste at TE, and either Balducci or Lake at NT that have the best shot at making the 53 man roster.

Question is, does every draft pick make the team? I'm sure Redmond starts on NFI, which leaves the other 10, with Buckner, Garnett, Robinson being locks IMO. That leaves Cooper and Theus battling with guys like Kelly, Pears, and some of the Gs like Thomas, and Devey. Then Prince Charles Iworah I think makes it. Driskel should make it over Lewis at QB, plus the team doesn't usually like to keep players who are bubble guys that would have guaranteed deals on week 1, which is what Lewis would have, same for Draughn and Harris at RB, I think one makes it, and Taylor is the 4th back, with Hyde, and probably Davis as the other 2 backs(Personally I would keep Draughn and Harris).

Burbridge I think makes the team, he was a stud at MSU, he caught everything thrown his way from Cook. Going to be a fun offseason as he head towards July-September, and week 1 home vs LA on MNF.

edit: Forgot I think Blair is a lock, too versatile, he makes the roster.

still cant figure out why we didnt get Billings
49ers signed Oregon DT Alex Balducci.

2014 first-rounder Arik Armstead, 2015 first-rounder DeForest Buckner, and Balducci all played on the same defensive line together at Oregon. Balducci (6'4/309) made 29 starts at defensive tackle for the Ducks, finishing his career with 10.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. He was selected honorable mention All-Pac 12 as a senior. Balducci showed passable athleticism for his size at Oregon's Pro Day, running 5.01 with a 9-foot-5 broad jump and 33-inch vertical. In the NFL, Balducci best projects as a rotational early-down run stopper.

I was calling this guy coming in as a UDFA
Did d'haquille Williams go anywhere?
