NF'84 Mock 2.0 (w/ trades)

SF trades #7 to CHI for #11 and #72 (Chicago moves up for Zeke Elliot in front of Philly)
SF trades #37 and #68 to WASH for #21
*Mock is predicated on no Kap trade

#11- DE/OLB Shaq Lawson Clemson- We may prefer his teammate Dodd because of his size and length but Shaq has the productivity, versatility, and effectiveness against both the run and pass to be the choice. Starts at ROLB with Lynch at LOLB rotating with Brooks. Harold and Tank rotate in on sub packages. All of a sudden we have some pass rushing talent to work with.

#21- WR Laquon Treadwell Ole Miss- He drops due to his speed questions and we make the aggressive move to get him in front of Houston, Min, and Cincy. Instantly becomes our best WR and I think Chip would play him in the slot running short to intermediate routes where he can use his size and strength to make plays. He'll be more productive than Jordan Matthews with better hands and play making ability.

#72- OG Christian Westerman ASU- I had Garnett in the 3rd last time but I think we would be good with either or. Competes and potentially starts at either G spot and at the very least is a solid backup.

#105- DE Bronson Kaufusi BYU- Age and lack of technique drop him to the 4th. Offers scheme versatility, size, pass rushing ability, and talent. Dial starts at RDE with Kaufusi rotating in on passing downs.

#133- QB Dak Prescott MSST- Questions will still remain with Kap even though he is on the roster for '16 and we need someone to develop. Prescott has dual threat qualities that Chip can work with for his offense and could develop into a starter down the line. Background check needed after his DUI last month.

#142- OT Joe Haeg North Dakota St- I'm sure we watched a ton of film on Wentz and in doing so Haeg caught our eye. Competes at RT and could potentially be our swing OT.

#145- RB Tyler Ervin SJSU- I think we all know what he brings to the table in Chip's offense. Picked him in my last mock.

#174- CB/S Sean Davis MD- We've shown interest in him with a pre draft visit. Sounds a lot like DJ when he came out as a hybrid DB. Size with tackling ability, played CB his senior year.

#178- ILB Blake Martinez Stanford- Competes at ILB and ST contributor

#207- WR Geronimo Allison Illinois- Competes on the outside with Smelter, White, and Patton

#211- OLB Dadi Nicolas VA TECH- Pass rush specialist who will compete at both OLB and has the versatility to play ILB as well. May end up on the PS with depth being established at OLB with previous picks.

#213- OT/OG Rees Odhiambo BSU- More competition for our porous offensive line, someone has to emerge right?
very nice...id go crazy if we were able to get Lawson, Treadwell, Westerman, Prescott and Ervin...would be amazing..only thing is maybe bc I haven't watched much on him I'm not a big fan of Kaufusi...also like Sean Davis out of Maryland..great job..
What a great draft. Good job but chi got Langford last year no way in hell they draft another rb high. Either way the trade is the trade.
I like the players but I dont think its very realistic. Kaufusi, Prescott, Haeg and Ervin will likely all be gone before you have them slotted.
A lot of soild names in there, it's tough to predict trades but I think everyone would be happy if it went down like this
Love the draft but I prefer Coleman or Doctson over Treadwell and they will probadly be there at 21. Only thing concerns me about Lawson is teams projecting him as a 4/3 end only we could end up with another Carridine a guy with talent and no position. From what I read Dodd looked better in LB drills and he would be there at 21 and we would probadly have to take Treadwell at 11. I Think Treadwell is to close to Rogers and Smelter. Coleman reminds me more of OBJ and Doctson is more athletic.
Hard to imagine Dak lasting to the end of the 3rd with the Cowboys slobbering all over him. I like the players you picked, and most of them seem to be in realistic slots. Dadi might not make it to the 6th, but who knows that late in the draft.

But only two trades and that is a realistic expectation. Like the players and hope they are all available in these slots. Solid mock.

oh yeah I like the players thrown out there it's just hard to throw around trades especially when making mocks IMO.

Thanks. Langford was a 4th rounder I believe and I think they have serious interest in Elliot.

The reason I have us taking Treadwell is I think Doctson and potentially Coleman go higher. Two, I think Treadwell is what we need out of the slot and can play outside as well. Yeah, he may not be the fastest on paper but I think he'll make a ton a plays in our offense and becomes our younger version of Boldin.

I see what you mean about Lawson and that is why I mentioned Dodd in the same sentence as well. But, though reports mention Dodd as more athletic in LB drills I'm not so sure. I've watched both to compare and I think Lawson may be more athletic than Dodd, is faster, and looks good in agility drills. His lateral movements need work but I think he will play well in an OLB or "Elephant role". He also has experience in a 2 point stance as Clemson asked him to line up that way. I believe Tank was a base DE and didn't have much experience standing up and dropping in college.
Yea WR preference ain't a big deal! Trent could jump on Fuller at 7 and surprise us all he's pretty unpredictable. Still you hit on my favorite scenario trading back then jumping back up into round 1. I think that the most likely scenario Baalke trades back. He rarely drafts QBs unless the coach lobbies for a certain one.

This

Love the picks

IMO we'll need to move up in the 2nd or into the bottom of the 1st to get Prescott
