How mad will you be if...

Goff is available at 7, but we decide to draft the tackle from ND, and C.Cook in the 2nd?
in baakle we trust!!!

I'd be mad, but not necessarily because of taking Stanley (who I like) and Connor Cook, more because we have serious needs on defense and could use those picks to get very good defensive prospects, especially at #7 overall.

Connor Cook at any point in the draft would have me irate.

If Miles or Tunsil are there at 7 then it makes sense but, picking Goff at 7 would tear my nerves up. We need the best available O line and pass rushers with our first 4 picks. Goff will not offset our inability to run / run block or pass block...nor will he help put pressure on the opposing QB's. I say no to any QB within the first 4picks, ideally I see the 2 top linemen and 2 top pass rushers as our first 4 picks, all are immediate needs.

I would be pissed if we passed on Goff for Stanely. I would explode if Goff gets picked up by the Rams after we passed on him. It is true, we have a ton of needs right now and the team will take at least another year to fill out and get young players experience. I think we could pick up our QB of the future early this year and focus on the O-line through out the draft. Give the new o-line talent a year to get experience and jell together while our rookie QB sits.

Next year we focus on the D and bring them in together to learn. This does not mean we just ignore the defense this year. If a great D-lineman falls to the 2nd and J. Smith falls to the 4th we should pick them up, but I think we should spend a good bit of our draft capital on the O-line. It just does not need to be the 7th over all pick. Brining the O-line in now along with the new QB will help them grow together (with the QB starting a year after the oline to help keep him protected). With 12 picks we could spend 1 on QB and 4 on the O-line and still have a full complement of 7 picks to fill out the rest of the roster.

If you could ask such a question, I don't think I need to tell you how mad I will be. Disregard of my personal reaction to such lame moves, the 9ers will be done for the next decade, at least 5 years until they finally fire Baalke and draft another legit franchise QB.
I could see it now...Elephant leading a lynch mob to Baalke's house haha

The best OL in the world means jack if you dont have the right QB behind it.

Historically its far far easier to find effective OL in the later rounds and in FA than it is to find a quarterback.

Go look at what the Cowboys stacked OL did for them after Tony Romo went down last year. From playoff team to picking in the Top 5.

If you have what you consider a franchise QB available, you dont pass on them for anything else. This notion of "first you gotta build up the team and then worry about a QB" sounds great in theory, rarely works out in practice. The worst teams are always going to be the best positioned to take a top QB prospect.

I'd rather that this team be terrible for a couple years than turning into the Rams and being 7-9 or 8-8 forever.
