Would love for this to happen

Just keeping our options open, creating conversation on a somewhat stalled out and stale forum and being positive. It may not happen but it could very well take place.

yeah me too..i just enjoy every ones point of view on all..respect it and learn about new prospects others might know about that I'm not aware of..
I would be stoked if we got a 4th for him at this point. All other teams know that we cannot have this guy on our roster. I can see us cutting him after April 1st and eating his salary this year.

Why "cannot"?? We won't cut him imo.

49ers arent going to cut him as long as he has some value, thats just ridiculous.

They lose absolutely nothing by holding on to him and seeing what happens with the QB situation for other teams leading up to the draft and beyond.

Fitzpatrick needs the Jets as much as they need him. His only real career success has come with Chan Gailey calling the offense. It would be stupid for him to go anywhere else and it would be stupid for the Jets to not bring him back which is why I believe that ultimately a deal gets done.

I would expect that Hoyer to Denver is a more likely scenario.

Even if the Jets wanted Kaepernick, I dont see any situation where they offer anything better than a 3rd round pick. Why overpay? The same reasons why Kaepernick isnt a great fit for Kelly's offense apply to Gailey's offense as well. Both horizontal passing timing offenses.

He doesn't want to be on this team. He'll just be dead weight. If we draft a QB in the first round, I would not want to have Kaep on this roster. Gabbert is the perfect guy to start the season as the starter and then pass the torch to the young guy. Also, if he plays in camp like he did last year, he may just get cut due to performance.

If we don't take a QB (which I hope we will), I can see us keeping Kaep, but otherwise he has to go.

"Cannot" may not have been the right word. Other teams know we do not want him on the roster.

That doesn't mean that the 49ers should be in a hurry to cut him. He still has value, how much is subject to debate but as teams realize that the 49ers won't be cutting him, the odds that someone ups their offer will increase. Having him on the roster through the draft or even some time afterwards doesn't hurt anything.

My ideal situation would be trading him right when the 49ers are on the clock with their pick in the 1st round.

lol... okay. I don't even know where to start here. Not worth my time. Just trust me we can and will keep him as long as we need to so we get what we want. We have him cheap all the way up until week 8 when the deadline arrives. Until then he only costs us $7mil. Once we trade him the other half of his pay is someone else's problem. He serves as insurance to us, a quality back up or short term starter as well as trade bait at a position that has a high demand.

the way people word things should not be the important part to you. It's the point being made.

I realize this but if they both stay true to their numbers it won't happen. The broncos may go the fitz route rather than our route and giving us what we want in picks. No way they go with sanchez and they likely miss out on a top 3 qb prospect. Jets have no cap and you're assuming fitz isnt asking for multiple years on that contract as well as other high demands.

Hoyer and sanchez aren't going to help the broncos and they are not going to have a lucky streak in the post season with those type of qb numbers again. lol

Elway is smart enough to realize this however. Thankfully for them and us.

Good coaches play to their players strengths so if they get desperate and give us a 2nd due to supply and demand then expect them to tweak their offense to fit what they would like to do.

at the qb position it doesnt matter what they know. lol its all supply and demand. we hold onto him and use him as a temp starter until goff is ready or a back up until someone gets desperate and gives in to the demand for their supply.
