The Joe Staley comparison wasn't realistic pre-injury - the guy has short arms and isn't nearly as athletic. That said, we're not likely to find anyone close to Joe Staley in the 6th round so I don't hate the pick.

Like the draft overall, but don't like Spence at 7. You can count the successful edge rushers with under 32.5" arms on one hand right now I believe (maybe one finger if Clay Matthews is the only one and he's playing inside linebacker right now). Jared Allen was another successful pass rusher with short arms, but these guys are few and far between. I'd much rather have Buckner or Jack at 7 and one of them should be there in my opinion.

Bosa, Tunsil, Goff, and Ramsey will be gone, so we just need one team to take Wentz or Stanley instead.

"Considered a potential top-50 pick coming into the season despite coming off of two ACL surgeries, he performed like a top line prospect against the Spartans, anchoring and showing excellent lateral mobility against a first-round prospect for MSU, defensive end Shilique Calhoun," Reuter wrote. The 6-foot-6, 283-pound Johnstone is one of the Pac-12's best prospects and his stock figures to keep rising as he proves his knees are sound. "Scouts now see that Johnstone is the run blocker and pass protector they remembered from before his injuries, and continued play at that level will likely gain him comparisons to Staley, a four-time Pro Bowler for the 49ers," Reuter wrote.

But like you said its a late 5th round pick nothing crazy....it's all potential at that point.

I have both Buckner (Jags) and Jack (Cowboys) both gone by the time they get to us thus going best pass rusher in the draft...I can also pick out a ton of pass rushers with long arms that are busts...one that comes to mind right off the bat is our boy lemonier if spence can end up being clay Mathews as a OLB that's fine with me

Yeah 12 picks is a lot considering we drafted 22 people in the past two drafts alone I'd be more than happy to get 6 soild players and a pick next season then drafting all the players mentioned above.

Yup 29th in sacks last season if chip can actually get us to score points teams are gonna be forced to pass the ball and we will need pass rushers and a lot of fresh legs. Spence has a motor and having lynch on the other side with Eli and Tank subbing in everyone should get some sacks this season

Thanks man! Yeah Dak could go a little higher...I'm not huge on Adams but he should be there, I just think if we don't land one of the top 2 QBs then we should hopefully wait until the 5th.

Seems like every year people always say no way we use all our picks. Gonna trade up we have lots of ammo. And then Baalke uses more than his original picks or gets more for next year. He's a quantity over quality kinda guy

I think baalke was in a different situation in he past with having a well established vet team, so he could take developmental picks and injury guys and stick them in as red shirt players to give them time to develop their skills and get healthy.

This isn't the case anymore we need starters and quality over quantity...it will be interesting to see how baalke with gamble back will tackle the draft and FA for sure!

I don't think Mack has opted out his contract yet, what are we doing at QB you didn't address that and you don't have enough Buckeyes in your draft.

Lol I have two! No he hasn't opt out but seems like the writing is on the wall in Cleveland...no change with QB Kap and Blaine go into camp battling it out...I didn't put down a full roster because I didn't feel like doing it

Unless we get some great comp for Kap or one of the top 2 QBs fall in our lap I don't see the reason to push Kap out this year.

Yeah I think focusing on offensive especially the OL should be priority #1 in FA and the draft should be spent on mainly defense...would love butler but after the combine I doubt it happens.

Not digging young's size he's like 5-9?

Yeah he is undersized and I doubt Kelly/Baalke would want a 5'9" corner. But in the past 2 years the best corner in both drafts have been considered undersized (Verrett,Darby) not saying Young is as good as either but undersized shouldn't be as big of a issue as it is in the NFL.

So far my favorite mock offseason!

Like the Spence, Butler, Miller and Prosise picks. Butler might not be there in the second, but I'd gladly take Miller especially in the third even if he's raw as a WR. His athleticism, speed and ability to line up pretty much anywhere in the field is the versatility Chip needs.
