QB Vernon Adams, Jr.

Now that we will have to start adjusting the roster for players best suited run Chip's offense, I wouldn't be mad at us taking a chance on Vernon Adams. I think he has potential to be a pretty good backup/developmental guy. Mature, graduate transfer kid who shows on film that despite his speed and ability to run, he still can step UP in the pocket as opposed to many college guys his size who tend to run out the back.

Tweeted that he'd love to play for the 49ers after Chip was hired. Id be fine with it as a 7th

Hell ya! Thanks for posting this. I've been telling guys that Vernon is an enticing day 2 prospect. I watched all his games as a Duck, and he was very Russel Wilson-esqe. He rarely scrammbled, but he used his agility and pocket presense to evade the rush and he made so many great passes down field off of that, just like Wilson.

The difference between him and his backup was beyond belief. He put up 31 points in 18 minutes in the Alamo Bowl, then got hurt and his backup had 18 yards the whole freakin 2nd half.
7th round pick worthy for sure. He could be a quarterback in this league. The main concern has to be height obviously, but his mechanics and arm strength is there. Maybe I'm saying this because I'm from Oregon and saw him play twice this year (One of the games was vs. USC, when he threw I think 7 TD's.) He's really a good passer and yes, reminds me of Russell... A lot.
