Mocking the Mockers

- I don't mean "mocking" as in making fun of-

I love to read people stuff. Kudos to all. For the purposes of realistic mocking pleasure, I feel the choosing for a QB in round 1 is completely unrealistic. Kap has done more than enough in the style of Chips O to warrant a year with Kelly. I'm just being honest here. NFL QBs don't grow on trees, they are like the rare flower that blooms once every two years in the Tibetan Mountains. Goff/Lynch/Wentz aren't that flower.

Thank you! Man everyone is so quick to get rid of the guy,I mean how great was Gabbert behind that sorry excuse for an o-line. I bet none of these people calling for his departure were complaining when we were winning with Kap. And I have to say, to draft one of those 3 qb's and throw him in the fire like Alex Smith would be stupid. I'd like to see an elite receiver get drafted cuz Torrey Smith didn't exactly light the field on fire. Plus, Patton n Ellington r not the answers at receiver either and who knows what we can expect from Smelter and White.

No, obviously no one was calling for Kaepernick to be benched, traded or cut when he was playing well. That goes without saying! But - and I personally am on the fence on this - a lot of posters think he is pretty much finished. Their opinion. I would like to see both him and Gabbert behind a decent O line and with decent receivers, duking it out for the starting role.

And I don't think anyone is calling for a QB to be drafted and thrown to the wolves. But with either or both of Gabbert or Kaepernick, why should they be? If there is a franchise QB in the draft and if the team think neither CK nor Gabbert is that good, we need to snap them up and develop them.

Big if.

Patton and Ellington may not be the answer, but I believe that they can be pretty good complementary receivers in this system. We still need a long term number one receiver though (Treadwell? Doctson? Thomas? Boyd?). There are some decent receiving options in this draft. Maybe we can find one

With this system I don't think we need to take a QB high. Besides I'm not sure Goff is mobile enough for Chip's offense and will probably go at 2 anyway. I think we can take a guy like Dak Prescott in the mid rounds an bring him along slowly. Then in a year or two if Kap still isn't the answer maybe he can slide into the starters role.

I do believe in giving them a chance, but believe they should be prepared by drafting a QB, if Kelly feels there is a talent to be found, but not in the first as there is no sure fire QB in the Kelly mold. Fixing the OL is number one, the wr, maybe the game plans/scheme were not there to help free them up.
