I think he will let loose as time goes on. He will slowly realize he doesn't have to be perfect to cement a top stock, but just keep doing what he has been doing the last 2 years and show why he was highly rated.

This scares me though, that he plays like this, worrying about his draft spot.

That SCREAMS to me another conservative quarterback mindset that weve already seen way to much in the last decade+

I don't see conservative...they are undefeated and he's avg 262 yards a game,3 TDs per game, and has a 61% comp percentage. It looks like he's not running the ball as much which is a big part of that offensive scheme.

It also looks like he's beefed up a little which is a good thing.

Ok good, Yeah I RARELY watch college football so I really just go off of what you guys say.

Didn't say you didn't no need to get snarky when someone doesn't agree with something you said.

Not being conservative at all and building momentum...the last two weeks were against the #13 and #1 total defenses in the country headed into the games.

BC was the #1 defense going into the game because they played a s**t schedule. Massachusetts, Wagner, and Buffalo in 3 of their first 5 games... their defense played pretty well against Georgia Tech, but it got shellacked by Virginia Tech for 476 yards and 49 points and it could have been worse if VT kept throwing.

I'm guessing a lot of those 10+ yard throws were against Boston College which does not have a good or talented defense. They were just ranked high in yards against because of their schedule through 5 games. Pretty sure they played a cushy schedule last year so they were ranked high in total defense before they played Clemson last year too. NC State (their opponent next week) has a top 10 ranked defense, but they aren't talented either - they've benefited from playing William & Mary, Old Dominion, and Notre Dame (in horrible conditions for a passing offense).

Watson played well against Louisville which does have a good defense. He had a solid game against BC, but they were completely outmatched in terms of talent.

Looking forward to seeing Watson against Florida State. That's the only difficult game they have left on their schedule.

Not impressed from what I've seen from him thus far. Lamar Jackson outshined him. Clemson would've lost that game if they were at Louisville.
He's having a weird year that's for sure. Prior to this year he showed the ability to be a #1 franchise QB.

In his career he has put up better numbers then Dak Prescott so lets not be too hard on him. Go back and look at last year and the year before.

LOL what?? Watson went for 306 yards, 9.9 YPA, 64.5 comp % with 5 TDs and 3 INTS ( one bounced off his WR's hands and the other the WR slipped running his route). He also had 90 yards rushing...he ended up with around 400 yards of offense!

Jackson threw for less yards (295) threw for 6.7 ypa, and had 61 % comp percentage with only 1 TD and 1 INT...He's a run first QB at this point.

I don't see what's weird to be honest? Hei's playing just fine and getting better as the season is going...last yr's numbers were out of this world and very hard to replicate IMO.

past 3 games his thrown for 880 yards avg comp percentage is at 64% and he's had 11 TDs and 4 INTs. He's also running less (avg less then 10 attempts a game vs 14+ last season).

Yeah I don't get how he was outplayed by Lamar in that game. He did have a bad INT or two (Jackson also had a bad INT) while throwing 5 TDs but he also had a player fumble on the 7 after he had completed a 20 yard pass to set up a score. Over the last seven minutes of the game, he tossed 2 TDs while Jackson was held scoreless.

Hard to outplay someone who throws for 300 yards and 5 TDs, rushes for just under 100, and leads the game winning drives in the final minutes.

Yeah I just don't get it...I'm assuming they don't like him for whatever reason and aren't watching the game

In the right system he could be a very good qb.

It could be spin from kizer fans

I mean I'm all about kizer as well both are solid qbs for this offense...If we move on from chip kizer might be able take on a new offense better, but Watson reminds me of McNair a little. I'll take either and be happy.
