NFL teams play in pouring weather or harsh conditions all the time. Should we take those stats out to each week? I guess you forgot Miami vs Tennessee that week still was played and those stats never existed. The argument to take those stats out never happened. What you are basically saying that the niners draft Trubisky (I hope we do not), if they have to travel to the east coast for games in poor weather, which btw in the month of Dec or Jan (during playoffs) weather sucks, you will take those stats out because he played in less than ideal conditions? But then you make the claim that Boston College inflated Watsons stats? That seems totally fair.
I've never seen a game played in the ND NC State conditions in all my years of watching football. I imagine the conditions Trubisky played in at Virginia Tech were similar. It makes no sense to include a game like that which has no bearing on a player's ability to play at the next level. Sloppy/cold/snowy conditions are one thing. Playing in a hurricane is another. None of these QBs will have to play in those conditions again in the NFL and if im evaluating QBs, I don't care how they played in a hurricane. If they're consistently bad in rain/the cold, that's another story.
And I never made the claim that playing Boston College inflated Watson's stats. I just pointed out that one metric to measure defenses has a weakness (it doesn't consider strength of schedule) and that BC's defense is not that great in reality. It's still a lot better than some of the cupcakes Trubisky played this year.
I question this still. I see VaTechs Qb still threw 2 tds and 0 picks to Mitch's 0-2 Td-ints. The argument is made that he was forced to take chances with his team down, I get that. But the bottom line is he didnt protect the ball especially in horrible conditions when it is imparative to play field position, etc. Now on the contrary, if he would have played well or even had the VaTechs qb's number, you and many others would probably be touting his performance. Regardless you cannot control the conditions, you have to play with what is dealt; borderline monsoon, hurricane, freezing, blazing hot, or even sunny weather. Did they played the game from start to finish? Then sorry, it counts.

FWIW, I like Watson too, but you may need a better argument.
