Like it a lot. Wouldn't fill every single need but it gets us moving back in the proper direction.

Good mock, Phoenix. What are your thoughts on Gabbert. Do you take Wentz and sit him while Gab starts a few years?

we'll have $50MM in cap room. That means we can spend ~$40MM of that on FA. OL and DL, please

Nice draft, I think it's becoming clear if we're picking in that 5-10 range, Smith would be the ideal pick.. Not really a fan of Wentz. He still has a lot of developing to do and as an older prospect (only 3 years younger than Gabbert), wouldn't be ready until he's 25-26 in an ideal situation.
That being said, next year's quarterback class looks historically bad so we're going to be looking hard at the second tier quarterbacks if we don't go with Goff or Lynch first round.
Really like this draft, and with a couple guys I've never heard of, gives me some more prospects to look out for

Something looks really off with Wentz's footwork in that youtube clip. He looks really shaky too me. Love the o line picks. If the draft went like this they would need to acquire some veteran help for the d line and pass rush if possible.

Pretty good overall draft. If we don't get Goff then I am fine taking Wentz. I like Haeg and Westerman on the O line for sure and those two would improve our OL immediately, only thing is that I kind of doubt if Westerman will be there in round 4. Jaylon to me is P-Willis reincarnated, so hell yeah to that pick. I think I'd rather go with Noah Spence than Devonte Fields if I am looking for a troubled pass rusher. Spence looks like he really has some 1st round talent to him.

Always do the best mocks. Hopefully Baalke see's this and contacts you lol! Phoenix, what are your thoughts on the coaching and FA changes and signings this offseason? Any projections or wants as it applies to that?

I think if we can sign Muhammed Wilkerson and bring in a decent interior lineman (flexible to play either guard position or center), tha5 will leave us in the best position in terms of realistic possibilities. Even if Bowman never returns to form, he is still good, and pairing him up with Jaylon Smith will give us a dominant inside presence at ILB again.

I like it. We seem to agree on the positions of need, just in a different order. Very good mock.

I don't think Wilkerson is happening. The reports coming out about the Jets indicate that they have every intention of franchising him and then attempting to trade him, they won't let him walk for nothing.

His footwork does need work, he's fairly raw in some regards but all the QB basics are there, accuracy, ability to go through progressions, arm strength, pocket mobility....etc. I believe he didn't start playing QB until his senior year in high school, before that he played RB and WR.
The Greg Gabriel piece on him is pretty good.

I think every QB in this draft has developing to do and not a single one should be starting in the NFL next year. The advantage of taking a guy in the 2nd is that there is no immediate pressure to push them into the starting lineup. Wentz has all the tools that you want from a quarterback and spending a couple of seasons on the bench, not being thrown to the wolves right away, could do a whole lot of good, hopefully with a QB savvy head coach running things.
