Not surprising was a 3rd round grade but has elite potential. Harbaugh loves TEs he will have Jake in the 2nd or 1st next year. I just hope he doesn't get injured

Scooby Wright is at the top of my list. Heart and soul guy with good athletic ability and the head to QB the defense. Let the "Scoooo-beee!" rallying call echo over Levi's. Carl Nassib from similar cloth for the defensive line. Pharoh Cooper or D J Fostor as a slot back receiver. A tight end from among Hunter Henry, O.J. Howard, or Bucky Hodges. Chris Hackenberg as a developmental QB. Nassib is ranked as mid first rounder by Drafttek, Wright as mid second rounder, the rest of my picks third round or later, so it would be a feasible draft list. With a bit of tinkering.

Im with you on Wright check the 1st page of this topic
but I would rather have Leonard Floyd as a 3rd down pass rusher to Nassib who is great but our front of AA, Williams, Dial is solid. Need someone else other than Lynch who can rush the passer lemon and brooks can't and I'll wait and see about Tank and Harold next year but I don't have high hopes.

So far Trent Baalke has managed to draft the following players I've wanted:
Mike Iupati
Navaro Bowman
Eric Reid
LaMichael James
Eli Harold
Mike Davis
Jimmie Ward
So what was that now.
So you're to blame for wasting a pick on LJ?
No I told Baalke LeBron James, not LaMichael, dammit that guy!!!

Leonard Floyd is my guy. Yes, he's undersized, but he's long and a freakish athlete. I view him as the best pass rusher in the draft and the best fit at OLB for us.
Floyd is also going to be better standing up and in coverage than any other tweener in the draft. I was about to do a mock and have him as our first pick. We were all surprised with the Aldon pick and this could be the same thing. Floyd won't last long on draft day. Ideally we trade out of the top-5 and grab additional pick(s).

Jaylon Smith-OLB/ILB-Notre Dame - If he is anything like Willis sign me up. I want the best ILB duo again.

I don't like drafting undersized guys because they usually lose weight over the course of the season.
Every wrestler I've ever met say they do better cutting weight than adding muscle to get up to the next weight class. I like drafting guys who are a bit too big & asking them to trim down. Guys who are too small have a higher chance of getting hurt IMO. Especially if they're pumping too much iron to add weight (their tendons & ligaments don't grow with the muscles).
Floyd id like Bosa: better utilized in a 4-3.
Plus, players typically drink a bunch of water before the combine to appear as big as possible, so their speed times look more impressive. So even if he weighs in at 231 (his listed weight), he could actually be a few pounds less. 231 is a big safety, not a 3-4 LB. You really want a 231-pound guy setting the edge against a guy who's 330? Nuh uh.

Desmond King looks like a future pro bowler. We don't need a CB but whoever gets King is going to be set up at corner

I want a pass rush and he's a dynamic pass rusher. He's light but he's significantly better than Gregory and Dupree were last year. Floyd played ILB also, so standing up isn't an issue.
Von Miller was also viewed as a small guy who struggled against the run. He played around 240lbs as a senior IIRC. Elite pass rushers are rare and I think Floyd could be dangerous at OLB.

This is opposite of the original topic, but I most do not want Jack or Nkemdiche going to Seattle. That would be too much speed in the hands of Pete. It looks like Jack should be out of Pete's range, though I wonder if Nkemdiche's base jumping incident will make him drop to Pete.

OL or DL, whichever the BPA is at our pick. Rebuild the Trenches.....
If there's somebody desperate enough to want to slide up to our pick and we can still land a premiere OL/DL at the new position and pick something else up in the process -

Von was viewed as small for a 3-4, not for a 4-3. Denver's never played a 3-4 since Von's been there.
