The Draft Lottery Thread

Starting to sound like CLE will select a QB, and DAL has to be looking for an eventual Romo replacement. Could be a bit of a run on QB's early....

Good. We will get an elite OT. Which is what we need BTW. Neither Lynch or Goff or sure things. Let others reach on them. It's to our benefit.

Still need to lose one more game or we'll get nothing.

If we pick an OT in the 1st, what are we going to do with him with Staley and A Davis coming back......move Davis to guard?

Yeah, that's a good question. I guess Davis coming back isn't a sure thing, so they have to cover their butts. If he does though, I think they need more of an OG than a tackle. Just have to wait and see how it plays out.

If there is a run on QB's and the Niners sit at 4 or 5 trading down could help replenish the roster.

In that case Id rather stand pat because it means that they have a shot at an elite defensive talent.

Either they go with one of the top QBs or they go BPA at that point.

Seeing how rich this draft is going to be at tackle, there is no need to take one in the 1st when there will be plenty of good tackle prospects available all the way through to the 4th round.

No player is ever really a "sure thing."

Go look at the OL's taken in this years draft and tell me exactly how many lived up to their draft slotting?

If Tunsil, Stanley, Goff and Lynch are gone...............Jaylon Smith come on down in a heartbeat.

You would pick Smith over Bosa?

Even if Bosa isn't a fit here, I'd trade the pick to a team that is looking for a 4-3 DE and we may still have a shot at Smith/Jack. #5 is pretty early for a 3-4 ILB or 4-3 OLB.

It looks like Smith might have tore his ACL, so on to plan B.

Said who?
If Smith blew his knee out he immediately becomes a Trent Baalke special. 3rd round?
Bosa ejected on his last game as a Buckeye.

Just happened. No word it's an ACL. But it looked bad. He had to be helped off the field.
