Thank God for this loss. Lowest we can pick now is 8 since either Saints or Jags have to win (play eachother).... Praying for a loss next week but knowing we are picking 8 at the worst gives me the feels. No matter what outcome next week, Jed will have a hard time keeping a 5-11 coach with this many lopsided losses.

Don't think it'll make a difference even if he doesn't play. Brockers is better than Fairley who has 0.5 sacks this year. They lost depth but they may not need it against the 49ers if we can't convert 3rd downs.

Anywhere between #3 and #8 is a possibility. A lock for a top 8 pick.

Nice to know - I thought we could drop even further than that but there can only be 8 teams with 5 losses so even with the toughest SOS, we'd pick 8. Looking at matchups, it doesn't look like there will be many (any) upsets to help us out next week.

4 win teams:
Chargers play Broncos on the road
Cowboys play Redskins at home

5 win teams:
Dolphins play Patriots at home
Ravens play Bengals on the road
Jaguars play Texans on the road (assuming Saints win)

Something about that Dallas game, at Dallas against the Redskins, who won't be playing for anything, has upset written all over it.
Niners & Cowboys are close in terms of SOS.

Gotta root for the Packers, Seahawks, Broncos & Giants.

No, I'd say they have more hope. They at least have a chance next season.

Both teams won't be playing for anything, but the Cowboys have a lot more to lose by winning this game.

If there are any upsets next week, this game or the 49ers at home against the Rams are the most likely. The Rams don't have anything to play for either but have a bigger incentive to lose for draft position than the Redskins.

Worst case would be if the Chargers, Cowboys, and 49ers all win because we would pick 8th instead of 3rd
We went from hoping for a Super Bowl win, to hoping to make the playoffs, to hoping for a top 5 pick in three years. All I can say is "F'it". How sad is that?!

Oh he will keep him. Don't you worry about that. We are in for 2 years of Ron Jeremy at least. He would be admitting he made an absolutely terrible mistake (which he did) if he fires him after 1 year. His ego just can't bear it. So he will try to stick with him for 2 years. Just to make it seem like less of a bad mistake.

What about the assumption that the Niners will win their last game? They have 4-12 written all over them. Then what?

He will still keep him. 4 - 12 or 5 - 11 he will be back. He would be back if we were 1 - 15.....
Rams will blow out Niners next week and finally this nightmare of a season will end.

Hopefully . . . they should definitely play their back-ups, and if needed play Dylan at QB in the second half to "see what he can do"
