The buzz around the Browns and Carson Wentz at #2 is real.

I wonder where Goff goes if Wentz goes #2.
DO IT HUE!!!

I would puke if Goff goes to the Cowboys.

I don't think Goff is going to DAL, they have a lot more issues right now than QB. Plus, I'm sure they wanna give Romo about 2 more years before they start looking. they might take a QB but it'll be in the later rounds (Cook, Adams, etc. )

Disagree. Because the Cowboys have a lot of issues right now it becomes even more imperative to secure a QB of the future. What I mean is, it's clear that no one position player at #4 is going to turn them into a SB/playoff contender right now given their needs everywhere but the o-line. So why not secure an absolute stud of a young QB in Goff to sit behind Romo for 2 years where he can grow mentally, professionally and physically, then spend this draft and the next rebuilding their porous defense/adding offensive weapons?

2-3 years from now when Goff is ready to take over, he'll theoretically have a young, talented roster around him. IMO, that would set the Cowboys up nicely for the future as opposed to having them scramble for a top QB when Romo is done.

I still think that they'll be content with Johnny Football or RG3. Especially the latter. I think that they'll look at him as a former top pick that still has some upside and see it as stealing money basically since they don't have to use a draft pick on him. Meanwhile, they are already a playoff team with a health Romo and Bryant.

Their biggest needs are in the secondary and if they are up to bat and if Ramsey is still sitting there, a guy everyone expects to be an absolute stud at safety, I think that Jerry's son and the rest of their front office who have mostly seized control in recent years, will have a really hard time passing him up.

I would cream my pants if Goff fell to us at #7.

And then the 49ers draft DeForest Buckner with that pick.

Don't get me wrong, I HOPE they are content with RGIII or Johnny Football as backups to Romo as that gives us the chance to draft/or allow another team to trade up for Goff. I just think they'll deeply regret that move 2-3 years from now.

Wouldn't be the first time they've done something deeply regretful. Taking a step back and looking to build the team logically would require them to accept that they will keep building past the expiration date on Romo's career but I can't shake the feeling that they are instead going to go all in on trying to make a SB run over the next couple of years.

Phoenix, if Wentz is there at #7, do we take him?

Hell if I know. I think any of the top 3 QB's would be a good fit in Kelly's offense but its starting to become clear that Goff and Wentz are being placed in the highest tier for QB's. I'd be fine if the 49ers did draft Wentz but I would hope that it was with the intention to let him sit, watch, learn and absorb for the first season. His upside is pretty good but there are still parts about his game that are quite raw.

I kind of like him. Good ar and athletic. Seems smart and looks like he has good leadership qualities from the practices.

Yeah, definitely like Wentz better than Lynch at this point.

I think they only reason they won't is that Kelly's system seems more plug-n-play than most. I think he'll try to convince Baalke that he can do great things with Kap/Gabbert and a non-first rounder, leaving him to build up the roster around that. I also think that since Baalke has final say on the roster, if Goff is there at #7, he'll be the pick.

Half the forum would be inconsolable... but nothing surprises me on draft day anymore!
