RB Leonard Fournette

Bobby Turner has done miracles with later round rbs so drafting Fournette would be a shocker. They probably are targeting another player and are bluffing! Maybe Mike Williams or Reuben Foster which are studs at need positions or even a Qb and don't want someone to jump up to take that player

RB class is deep and it's not a massive need for us compared to other areas. We can get a strong RB in later rounds and save #2 for a genuine impact player for a position of real need.

Why you are new guy member here. Relax.. we will remember your name someday.

no he isn't...Zeke can actually catch the ball.

And who said Fournette cant?

Boy you got a real love fest with him eh? Listen people go off from the tape and he wasn't a pass catching back thus far.

He's a stud but I don't think zone blocking is ideal for him.

I do.

Fournette can do it all. Cook is a good back as well, but the fact that a guy like Cook can come out, and be the #2 ranked back, tells you how good Fournette is. He is a damn good RB that can do everything you want a back to do in the NFL and he does it all at an extremely high level.

People that don't think he is and should be a top 5 ranked player in this draft are delusional. You can argue all you want about the value of RB. It doesn't matter. Fournette is that good.

Fournette would look amazing in Kyles offense.

Imagine signing Jeffrey/Garcon, also add Mangold and one of the two FB's being talked about.

Bring in cousins this year or next.

Draft Fournette at #2 overall.

This offense starts looking like a contender immediately, and you still have the entire rest of the draft to address the defense.

Look, i get this line of reasoning, i really do. But my opinion is Fournette is a once in a generation type talent at RB. Thats why the 49ers may be considering him at #2.

Doesn't sound like a perfect fit to me...

"Runs to obvious daylight but needs to learn to anticipate and finesse the crease in traffic. Doesn't see cutback lanes developing as outside zone runner and prefers to keep runs play-side. Throws half-hearted, grazing shoulder as chip blocker. Pass protection and routes need extensive work."

This draft is full of great RBs....go look at this past season zeke was great sure, but look who was 2nd in the league in rushing Jordan Howard (only 300 less yards with 100 less attempts) he was a 5th rd pick.

RB at two is a waste compared to what we need especially in this draft and with Hyde....it's not smart man.

AP was a "once in a generation talent" how many games have the Vikings won? His running style isn't for the long haul imo

Where is that quote even from? LOL.

Zeke and Howard would not be ranked above Fournette in this draft. Not even close.

My point is, Fournette is that much better.

I trust my eyes.

Hyde gets broken every other game, and has never even broken 1k yards lol. I like Hyde, but he is not a bell cow, and is not even remotely in the same class as Fournette.

The answer to that question is a s**t ton more than they would have won without him.

It's from his draft profile on NFL.com

You totally missed the pt with zeke and Howard...Howard was a 5th rd pick and was 2nd in the league in rushing, you can fine RBs and in Kyle's offense it couldn't be more true.

We need a cop back to spell Hyde...you bring up hydes inury issue but what did fournette have all this yr? Where was he in the big games vs a real team like Bama? He's not a ZBS running back imo. He's a gap blocking down hill runner.
If he's the next AP or better then there's no question you draft him at 2. You take the best player at the position and according to most big boards, he's right there. Sure, he's not a need but he has the ability to transcend the position. Pair him with Hyde for a year or two, limit his miles and when this team is ready to contend, he's an amazing weapon.

Please post why you feel this. Other than his size, and one negative article, what leads you to believe this?

I fully understand your point. Mine is that Fournette is that good.

How many games to the Vikings win with AP? RB is important but it an't that important...I thought shanny and his dad could take lower rd RBs and make them good?

No doubt runningback has been devalued a lot but if he can be AP you don't think that would help this team?

We need to stop focusing on what decent players we have still on the roster and draft BPA. I wouldn't take him at #2 personally but he could be the best player in the draft so we should think about it.

Dallas spent a top 5 pick on Elliot last year and look how that turned out...

What had Hyde done? He hasn't even completed a 1k season yet
You go back and look at that 07 draft and AP is easily a top 2 pick. If Fournette is getting that kind of comparison then he is no doubt a top 2 pick. Nothing is ever certain but that kind of talent doesn't come along very often.
