RB Leonard Fournette

According to just about every draft analysis. He's got tight hips and poor vision (Ive posted it and if you want to find it go back) Most of his big runs were based off gapping holes. ZBS you need to be able to cut back on a dime and burst threw the hole. I don't see burst with him I see a 2nd gear that's crazy given his size. There's a reason he didn't do the broad jump, 3 cone, and 20 yard shuttle...his vert just backup that he lacks burst.

even our draft guru MadDog isn't that high on him with the 2nd overall pick

At this point he offers zero in the passing game as well...I'm not saying he's gonna suck cause he's talent and if you give him a gap blocking power OL (like our 2012 OL) he's gonna be good no doubt.

I just don't value a RB that high no matter who it is...don't hate him just think it would be a sub par pick.

No one can take what you post seriously in here because its obvious you have a bone to pick with him. If you dont want a RB at #2, thats fine, many agree with you regardless of who was the RB. If it was Frank Gore 2.0 sitting there, many would agree with you to Pass. Why? Im not sure, but thats another conversation all together.

But you go to extremes that just arent based in reality, and try to falsely and purposefully bring down Fournettes draft stock and talent to try to prove your stance that a RB should not be taken at #2.

I appreciate Maddog and his opinions, But Fournette is the best back in the draft and its not close. Mixon looks legit as well, but i wouldnt touch him.

You started out saying Mccaffrey was a better RB, then Cook, Then Mixon, now we are on to Hunt.

I understand everyone has their draft crushes, but its getting a bit ridiculous now.

Nope not even close...your the one with the lovefest.

Like I said I never once said he was bad...I don't think RB is worth a second overall pick given the draft class, who's our HC, and how today's game is. I wouldn't draft a RB at two regardless of who it is.

You still haven't named one RB that's turned a franchise around?

And thats fine if thats the point your trying to make, but thats really not the point your making in most of your discussion through this thread. I understand that is the core of your argument, but you often to go to illogical extremes and comparisons in order to further that argument. Go back and reread your own arguments.

People were in here saying Cook was the best RB prior to the combine, Then it was Mccaffrey, then it was Mixon is a better fit. Then it was "wow look at that Hunt cut".

Im personally of the opinion that fournette is currently one of the top three players on the 49ers board, and if Garrett is gone, i hope we draft him. but im also not in here trying to beat down all the other running backs in an attempt to hype fournette. There is indeed a LOT of talent in this draft at RB. on the other hand, there seems to be a lot of people trying to break down Fournette in here and hype their players, when lets be honest, we all know they really arnt on the same level. I like Hunt, but come on. I doubt there is a single professional scout that would stake his career on that opinion.
When was the last time (excluding E. Elliott, which you could argue has more to do with his O-line) a top-5 running back turned out to be an elite back?

Excuse me? I thought you said you were done arguing with me?

I am just not interested with all this back and forth with you from this point on, is for the best interest of this thread or any other threads for that matter. Is like McDaniels vs Shanahan all over again. Thank God, at least Shanny got the job. LOL.

Again, I am just going to go with an advice I once got from a mod, when you see a discussion that is not going anywhere, the best thing to do is to ignore.

On that note, adios, au revoir, arrivederci, sayonara...

A better question is how many RB's have ever been taken in the top 5? It doesnt happen often, and Players bust in the top 5 period. RB is not immune, nor is any other position. Look at top 5 picks accross the league over the last decade and the list is full of duds.

Anyways, to answer your question, it would likely be Tomlinson in 2001. Go back a couple years and Edgerin James and Ricky Williams were both drafted top 5 in the same year. there are some additional mentionables in the top ten, but we are talking top 5 now so i wont discuss them.

Then you have weird anomalies like Ronnie Brown. Cedric Benson, and Cadillac Williams all going top 5 the same year.

That's pretty much exactly what I said about John's comments yesterday. The only point of contention is whether they will take Fournette at 2 or another back later. But, to pass on a talent like Fournette and hoping Hyde would turn around might prove to be too much of a price to pay in my opinion.

Precisely, that Hunt thing was the latest low, like you said, I mean come on. Is like comparing a Fiat to a Ferrari. LOL.

give it a rest...I don't have a bone to pick at all. I've stated why I don't think he should be the 2nd overall pick. He didn't run over my dog or anything.

And you leaving out actually what I said with regards to the other RBs...I SAID based on their value! I've stated I don't want a RB regardless of who it is at two period. Nowhere did I say draft hunt at two or cook...if your gonna assume something about me at least be correct.

As far as "bringing is stock down" I'm stating facts man...you and rascal are the ones that are proclaiming he's a HOF already...I don't think he's an ideal fit for ZBS and I don't think RB is worth the 2nd overall pick. Period

Of course I knew Fiat owns Ferrari, but sorry they are still not comparable all the same. LOL.

May be I should say comparing a Fiat to a Lamborghini next time since Lambo is owned by Audi.
Since we still don't have any QBs on the roster , we need a stud RB like fournette
