McCloughan gives this pic much thought.

I would lose my mind if we pick Cook at 7. I'd rather have Hackenberg or Wentz with our 2nd round pick if we don't go for Jaylon Smith to redshirt him. If Cook is there in the 3rd, I'd be fine looking past his character concerns.
Just the thought of the Niners drafting Cook is vomit inducing.

Matt Miller @nfldraftscout
I can confirm @dpbrugler's report: Connor Cook declined Senior Bowl invite. Not a good decision for him.

This kid is a moron.

I don't think I ever heard of anybody turning down an invite

Happens all the time. Mariotta did the same thing last year

Uh, not possible, Mariota was a junior I believe, only Seniors gets invites.

He is dumb, cause he's not a 1st rd pick IMO.

Plenty of QB's turn down senior bowl invites. It's hard to mesh and look good with receivers you've just met. That, training for the combine, and injury risk is the reason so many QB's turn down senior bowl invites. That being said Connor Cook sucks and I hope we dont draft him (unless he's there in the 4th, which he won't be)

No
I have a feeling since Wentz/goff/Lynch will all be gone by the end of round 1, or early round 2, that at Round 2 pick 7 we are picking Connor Cook, but taking BPA at #7

Happens a lot but its usually Top 5 caliber guys doing it. Cook is NOT top 5 caliber....or even top 10 caliber.

If its an injury issue as was mentioned, that is one thing but if he's just passing up on because he doesn't think that he needs to be there, that is no bueno.

Word here at the Senior Bowl; MSU teammates have been less than effusive in their praise of quaterback Connor Cook.

Teams are finding out why he wasn't made a captain ...
Watching the interviews now. He seems fine to me.

The whole captain seems like it's been blown out of proportion, if Cook's explanation is true. He said they had a committee of players, which he was on and they decided different captains each game. Most seniors were voted as a captain for one game. He was selected for 4, all their big games.
