Connor Cook watch

One game, against a defense with a better DL than some NFL teams.

That said, I havent been a fan of his and this game has given me no reason to revisit my opinion on him thus far.

The problem is not this game, are the 3 years with pct declining, no real development, unstable mechanics and horrific footwork.
Cook ball placement make Tebow look like an Hall of Famer

I'm terribly disapointed with Cook

You said it yourself, he has given you no reason to revisit your opinion. Why not? Cos good players find away to win. Even if you don't win, you got to make some plays. Surely, a game of this magnitude you are not going to get shut out, are you? 0-31? Really?

Coker is proving that has more to work with in long term even he is sometimes very inconsistent from game to game
We cannot compare this Cook performance with Lynch performance.

You have to fit either performance in both contexts.
Cooks leaves this game with his status very shaken because of the overall evaluation.

Lynch had only a bad game.

Cook had a few games like this

I said this in the Lynch thread:

"Since 10/31 Lynch is 2-4. And if you take out the aberration of 9 completions for 7 TDs against SMU. He had 4 touchdown, 3 INTs, 238 yards per game (306 for the year) and a 118.7 passer rating (166.2 for the year)."
Carson Wentz stock has gone up and perhaps take over as the 3rd QB taken in the 2016 NFL draft. CFB performance from Conor Cook against Bama tonight: god awful!

I'm no Cook fan, but you have to keep in mind that he was playing against the best defense in college football (by a decent margin too). Alabama's front 7 is loaded with NFL talent and they finished 2nd in the country in defensive yards/game and third in pts against despite facing one of the toughest schedules in the country (2nd in Sagarin rankings). He was the victim of a number of drops this game and his first interception came with about 6 seconds left in the first half when he had to try to score a TD before half and the 2nd came at the very end when the game was over.

This was a bad game for Cook, but he didn't play worse than Lynch did. I still consider Cook the 5th best QB prospect behind Goff, Lynch, Wentz, and Hackenberg because of his character concerns. Can't wait to see Hackenberg against Georgia - with a big game, he could move up some boards given his age (he's 20 - more than 2 years younger than Cook) and physical gifts.
Where's all the cook love this morning?
Hackenberg might stay in college.
He will have 1 year to clean up his game and capitalize in a weak 2017 draft class.
Cardale Jones already made the mistake of declaring
Gotta eat my humble pie w/ Cook's performance against 'bama. I know 'bama's defense is a buzz saw, but the Spartans got completely shut down.

I know he had a shoulder injury recently, but this is cause for concern.
Made some bad decisions.

Seems like a bit of a gunslinger.

I think you should pull the plug on the guy, he really isn't that good. Come over and join us on Team Goff.
