D'oh! I saw the Michigan State / Alabama game listed for Thursday, but I didn't realize it was NEXT Thursday. I was planning to watch the game this evening.

I take it all back. That teammate seems to like him.

It's pretty easy to see he doesn't have the charisma and leadership to be a franchise QB.
That's the character concern. You could put 50 other QBs at Michigan St and they'd still be undefeated.

That's a pretty big stretch. Michigan State played 4 good teams this year (Oregon, Michigan, Ohio State, and Iowa). They were in a number of close games. Cook played okay against Oregon and Iowa and well against Michigan (his stats were biased by one very long TD which was mostly YAC, but I have to give him credit for playing at Michigan). In terms of talent, he's a top 5 QB in this draft class or at worst top 10, but my biggest concern is that his teammates don't like him other than #3.

That's a good point. Kaepernick was (1) a crappy leader (2) kind of a douche off the field and (3) sucked at playing quarterback (most importantly). Yet people defended him tooth & nail because the team was winning. I'm seeing double standards here.
Cook is unknown in all 3 of those areas, but he EASILY has 5 times the football intelligence & much faster processing speed than 7stromcoming ever did already.

Kaepernick was aloof but I didn't get the impression that teammates disliked him like I have from seeing some of Cook's Michigan State teammates interviewed. I'd say #1 is pretty much a given with Cook since he wasn't named a captain.
Kaepernick was a captain at Nevada and was named a captain by his teammates as a first year starter for the 49ers. He wasn't the best leader, but he's a heck of a lot better than Cook in that regard. They're different players so it's hard to compare them - Cook has a quicker release, both are inaccurate, and Kaepernick is a more dangerous runner. I would draft Kaepernick again before drafting Cook.

Seeing how wildly successful Kirk Cousins has become and how solid Hoyer has been makes me hopeful for Cook. Sparty QB's well trained?

Cousins had way better fundamentals than Cook coming out.
Cousins did not develop more early because of the RGIII crap fever
