According to an anonymous NFL scout interviewed by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Michigan State senior QB Connor Cook "likes being a celebrity."
Said the scout, "[Cook] can make all the throws and he's got some strength to him and he can run. It's all the other stuff with him. How much does he really like ball? How much is he going to work at it? He likes being a celebrity." This isn't the first time Cook's character's come under fire. Prior to the season, minor waves were made when the 6-foot-4, 218-pound senior wasn't named a team captain, and after the Big Ten Championship Game, Cook visibly snubbed two-time Heisman winner Archie Griffin. It's doubtful this stuff will matter in the long run--despite so-called "character concerns," the Spartans are still in the College Football Playoff. And of course, should Cook turn in a huge game against Alabama's top-ranked defense on New Year's Eve, that would go a long way toward minimizing idle whispers.

A real life Bo Callahan, were his teammates at his birthday party, that's the question I would ask.

He may be a dick, but he plays in a pro offense, has a strong arm and he's athletic. He evidently runs about a 4.6.
And he should be available in the 2nd round, so they could take the best pass rusher available in the first.

He will be over drafted and taken in the first...wouldn't be suprised if a team like the Texans take him...I wouldn't say he has a strong arm either. Rather have wentz in the 2nd

Wentz seems very accurate from the little I've seen, but do you really think he has a stronger arm than Cook? The other thing I've noticed lately is that some draft watchers are predicting that Goff may drop to the second - he's very accurate.

Not sure about arm strength but I just not a fan of what cook brings as far as leadership.
Here's a article on wentz

Have not seen that anywhere - do you have a source for that? The 3 most recent articles from reasonable sources have Goff as firmly as first round pick. Anything is possible, but I haven't heard anyone suggest that Goff may not be a first round pick in a while.

Mock has him going #6 to the 49ers

Compares Goff to Cutler, says his arm has gotten stronger than it was in 2014 and that he's a lock to be one of the top 2 QB's taken

Mock has him going #2 to the Browns
I think the Bo Callahan comparison makes sense for Cook, but he's a poor man's Callahan. With no character issues, he may be the 3rd best QB in the class but it would be close.

You just basically described Brady Quinn.
The whole "he plays in a pro style offense" bit is so tired. There has been a myriad of "pro style" guys that completely have flopped.
When you struggle with your accuracy as much as Cook does, all that other stuff falls to the wayside.
In the past 10 years there hasnt been a single successful NFL QB that finished his college career without at least a season of 60% or better completions. Not a single one. And somehow I dont envision Cook being the exception.

Who?
The people I find to be most credible and accurate year in and year out all have him as a top 10 pick currently.

Jay Cutler is better than any 49er QB since Steve Young.
I'd take Jeff Garcia. And Alex Smith. But point taken.

I think Jeff Garcia showed how overrated he was when he went to other teams, but ok.
...But you'd seriously take Alex Smith over Jay Cutler???

I say cook is out guy. Reminds me of Peyton or Brady. Old school pocket guy.
