Were gonna miss all my targets. Rowe will be gone, DGB is going to Minnesota, and Strong is going to STL.

Trent loves to get top prospects coming off injuries.

Don't wave your finger at me Mayo. We all know how Trader Trent operates.
ntournahu (above) stated" "We now have three picks in the fourth round. I see us trading back up into round two and having two 2nd round picks."

However, when you do the calculations, I'm not sure that that is such a good idea. To trade those two 4ths to get back up to the 2nd round, the 49ers would have to package their 3rd with the 4ths:

pick # 79 (our 3rd) = 195 points
pick #117 (from the Chargers) = 60 points
pick #126 (from the Broncos) = 46 points.

So, 195 + 60 + 46 = 301

According to the Draft Value Chart, the 60th pick in this draft would be worth about 300 points.

If you throw in the 49ers 5th round pick (#151 overall) that would only add 31 points to this package of picks and 331 points would get you to pick 57.

Moving up is VERY expensive. I doubt that the 49ers would give up picks #79, #117, #126 and #151 to get pick #57.

who I want

I'd like to land a receiver and pass-rusher soon before the talent drops off. If we take a receiver, I think we may target speed first, and then go with a possession or Red Zone threat later (Waller, Mayle)

Still want Carl Davis, I don't care if they have to play him at the nose. Get him if he's there. Don't know if the pre-draft interviews did indeed hurt him, but if he falls past us, I admit I'd be surprised.

A top combo I'd be interested in would be WR Lockett or DGB with whoever the best remaining pass-rusher is. But I still have a strong hunch of the team targeting Devin Smith.

Baalke likes to maneuver more in these middle rounds, so I think we'll see something happen in that regard.

Right but it would only cost one of those 4ths to move up a 5-8 spots from our current 2nd round position and get a guy who fell out of the first. I wouldn't be surprised if they were targeting one of those guys. Strong and Green-Beckham would be great as an heir-apparent to Boldin and I wouldn't be shocked if they went after Goldman or Carl Davis despite already picking a d-lineman.

Finally someone knows how to use the draft value chart. I was starting to get frusted with folks saying two 4ths for a second. On that note I think the value is in the top 10 of the second round. I have zero issue with Baalke trading away one of the fourth round picks to move up for his guy.
1 - 15th) Arik Armsted - to replace Justin Smith

2 - 46th) Green Beckham - his swagger is what we need against the NFC West's secondary

2 - 54th) TJ Clemings - Staley's plays weren't very stellar last year
(TRADE) Send Lions this year's 4th (from Broncos #27) and next year's 2nd rounder

3 - 79th) Paul Dawson - not Willis to be exact but could be another Bowman

4 - 118) Ifo Ekpre-Olomu - (Chargers) best value on the 4th round

4 - comp) Josh Shaw; - just incase Ifo can never play again

5 - 151) Ty Montgomery - a more athletic John Taylor

rest of the draft: BPA

I think there is a better chance we trade up into the late 2nd and/or acquire at least one more 3rd. Between this year and next year, (counting 4 likely comp picks), we have at least 16 day 3 picks over the next two years. It's time to translate some of those into some day two picks.

A third this year and next would move us into the 2nd round. And 4th this year and next, plus a late rounder would get us a 3rd. We have the picks to spare. 10-15+ day 3 guys aren't going to make the roster over the next two years.
