I wasn't a big fan of DGB in the 1st, but I love him in the 2nd even if we have to trade up a bit. I'd be happy with either DGB or Strong with this next pick.

Wheeler is an OLB, that sucks, for the poster that said we're filled at ILB. Personally, I would package our 2nd and a 4th to move up and get the best ILB still available in the draft in Eric Kendricks. Especially after seeing the Rams get Gurley and now having to face him and Beast mode twice a year. Then I'd package our third and fourth to move back in 2nd to select Strong if available. If not I keep picks and take Lockette in 3rd and trade a fourth and fifth to move back into 3rd and get one of Darby/PJ Williams/Rollins/Collins or Rowe depending on who's available

Very much this man, and if we can somehow get Eric Kendricks as well this draft would be nice

I agree with you on Kendricks. I think he is going to be a very good pro. I do think Wheeler could play ILB in a 3-4. I don't think he will make the team either way though.

I could definitely live with either one in the 2nd round. But I think ILB, CB, DT/NT are actually more important. Perhaps even OG also. But I would not be really disappointed if we picked either one of those specific WR's. It would just leave some unfilled holes of top players at perhaps bigger need positions.

Eric Kendricks, Green-Beckham, Randy Gregory or Strong in the second.
AJ Cann, Quinten Rollins, PJ Williams, Paul Dawson or Devin Funchess in the third.

I would love to see Baalke nab DGB and trade back into the 2nd round for either an ILB or CB while addressing the other in the 3rd round. I also read a rumor that the Bucs are shopping Doug Martin for a mid-late round pick, SF was a rumored possible destination. I would LOVE to see that trade happen, Hyde/Martin backfield would be great. In this scenario, one that's not that far fetched IMO, the 49ers would have addressed all major needs by the end of the 3rd round (DL, ILB, CB, WR, RB) and be able to strictly go BPA the rest of the way.

From the outside looking in - want ILB, CB, and WR for the next picks. Based on BPA rankings, it seems possible to pick up:
Dawson at 46, then trade back in to slot 50-55 (??) and get
Devin Smith

I really want Strong but we're not getting him without trading up. At this point I hope enough teams shy away from DGB to drop him to us. He's worth the risk in round 2. Of course other teams may be thinking the same thing. Colts taking Dorsett really pissed me off.
I hope their defense gives up 40 points a game. That franchise never learns.

To be honest I think our roster is now outclassed by both Seattle and Arizona. Unless Kaepernick becomes a top 5 type Qb this year we will likely finish third in our own division at best. Part of me thinks this is why Armstead was taken. Developmental guy who will not likely make an impact until next year. I think we may draft like that again day two. I also wouldnt be surprised if we traded back trying to get more picks next year. With that said if we could get DGB I think he fits that mold. Boom or bust type pick that likely wouldnt do much this year.
Next year we will likely be picking earlier and looking for the more polished high impact guys and hope this years developmental guys make strides to allow us to compete again.

IF Carl Davis or Goldman are available about 10 picks before our pick, i would jump for one of them. We could anchor the d-line for years with premier talent. That would be amazing.

Have a strong feeling that Devin Smith is their target in the 2nd.

Wheeler had over 100 tackles in 2012 & 2013 and had a solid season with Jason Tarver (our LB coach) as his D-coordinator.
I do see some moving around tonight, but they won't be moving up for a ILB.
