Expecting to be disappointed

2005 1 Alex Smith QB University of Utah - Was very happy with this one.
2006 6Vernon Davis TE University of Maryland - Was okay with Vernon
22Manny Lawson LB North Carolina State University - Liked Manny.
2007 11Patrick Willis LB University of Mississippi - Thrilled.
28 Joe Staley OT Central Michigan University - Happy, but only because we got a 2008 1st rounder back by trading our 2nd rounder.
2008 29 Kentwan Balmer DT University of North Carolina - Hated the pick. Turns out righfully so.
2009 10 Michael Crabtree WR Texas Tech University - Thrilled.
2010 11 Anthony Davis OT Rutgers - Wasn't big on Davis and didn't love the trade up.
17 Mike Iupati G Idaho - This saved it for me.
2011 7 Aldon Smith LB Missouri - Was happy we passed on Gabbert, but did not expect Aldon.
2012 30 A. J. Jenkins WR Illinois - Disappointed.
2013 18 Eric Reid FS LSU - Liked Reid, but didn't like the trade up
2014 30 Jimmie Ward SS NIU - He wasn't even on my radar.

You nailed this!

2004 Hated the trade down for Rashaun "I'd rather be fishing" Woods. The pick was obvious...Vince Wilfork.
2005 I was ok with Alex Smith...but wanted Aaron Rodgers.
2006 Vernon Davis - Loved the pick! Thought he would be gone. Wanted Huff if Vernon was off the board.
2007 P W. LOVED this pick. My family was thoroughly sick of me saying Patrick Willis months leading up to the draft.
2007 Joe Staley. I liked the pick. Needed to shore up the OLine.
2008 Kentwan Balmer. HATED this pick. Hated the Chilo Rachael pick too! Wanted DeSean Jackson.
2009 Crabtree. Loved this pick.
2010 Davis & Iupati. Liked picks. Needed to shore up OLine.
2011 Aldon Smith. I was like WTF....but glad we didn't draft Gabbert. I wanted Patrick Peterson.
2012 AJ Jenkins. HATED this pick. Wanted Dre Kirkpatrick.
2013 Eric Reid. Liked this pick.
2014 Jimmy Ward. HATED this pick. Wanted Dennard or Cooks.

2015 Arik Armstead. Dislike this pick.

I haven't been this disappointed in a 49er offseason/draft in a VERY long time. The 2 best WR classes and we cheap out with late round WR? We could have had one of about a dozen stud WR. We lose 2 ILB this offseason and watch any impactful ILB go off the draft board?

The only saving grace is a crappy 2015 season and HOPEFULLY the end the Baalke era.

Tomsula loves his DL depth so the plan for Armstead is to coach him up, get him in the weight room, etc. and get him ready to play. Initially I was disappointed when Goodell read his name...but look at all the analysts who picked him in their mocks. It wasn't an accident, folks...there are a lot of pretty smart football people out there who believe he's got the game to play well in our 3-4. Ideally, Justin Smith plays in 2015...and Armstead can learn from one of the best. Give him a chance, people.

Why draft DL depth...when you lose 2 ILB, lose 2 starting CBs, and still need a WR to replace Boldin next year?

DUMB!

Living in Georgia...I watched most of their games. Gurley is the best RB in the NFL in years!

It's hard watching the Rams have a great offseason/draft, the Seahawks reel in Jimmy Graham and Tyler Lockett, and the Cardinals have a solid draft.

It's looking like the NFC West cellar. Good news...the Baalke era comes to a close. Now if we could just get rid of Jed too.

You nailed it, bro. This has to be one of the worst drafts in years. Like you said I have also come to expect the usual crap draft from Baalke.

This organization is really turning me off, good news is I have already ordered the pay per view Pacquiao and Mayweather fight for tomorrow and at a decent price may I add where I am at. LOL.

Let's go Manny!!
I had Harold going to Pittsburgh in the 1st rd. Stole him in 3rd

You have to get the WR to replace Boldin in this draft? There isn't a 2016 free agency period or draft?

Bowman and Brooks starting ILB.

Cox only started because Brock was hurt. Perhaps they really like Johnson. Reminds me a lot of last year and all the freaking out about losing starting cbs.

Losing Cox and Culliver are significantly more impactful than losing Brown and Rogers. Rogers was already way past his prime.

YES...you replace Boldin now considering that 2014 and 2015 might be the two best WR classes...ever. Ellington, Patton, and Simpson look like roster fillers. Reggie Bush signing would have been nice about 3 years ago.

Baalke is trending with HORRIBLE 1st round picks. Jimmy Ward? AJ Jenkins?

I wonder if Baalke doesn't value WR as much as other teams, and as a result, they are rated as highly on his board? The only time he drafts a WR is when they fall more than expected, and he then sees the value. With this kind of strategy, it does force you to either sign WR in free agency or spend low draft picks in trades with other teams. I know we would all like to see the 49ers draft the next Jerry Rice, but trading for 1k per season WR has worked ok too. We have 2 starting caliber WR this year, and we didn't draft either.

Um brooks is a OLB too bulky to play ILB

Not if he drops some weight. Aren't gonna carry 5 OLB again and it would be stupid to cut Lem.

Ahmad can play at 255 as a 2 down run stuffer just fine.

Cox couldn't even make a roster before the 9ers. Hardly some huge loss.

Roster fillers huh? Because the previous brain trust were clueless about using them they aren't good. You'd be saying how Odell Beckhma is a useless bust had we traded up for him because the old regime wouldn't have played him. No idea what those guys can be.

Half a season and Jimmy isn't good. Love the patience. Even if he's a terrible nickel cb he could still be a great safety. We haven't even seen him play his natural position.

And you're gonna stop Gurley with Dgb or some other wr... Is that your reasoning?

The funny part is that when these players start to produce and become the players the front office projected them as you're the type of fan that retracts everything and are all up on their junk.. chill out man.. this division is won with defense.. don't forget that

Unless he servers as kicker and punter, this was a FAIL
Aside from the Smelter pick, can we have a complete do over?

They might be doing a 49ers draft recap on the Comedy Channel later on tonight.
