Expecting to be disappointed

Was listening on the radio on the way home from work (decided to not take the day off), the person doing the draft said just before the dolphins picked Parker that the niners seemed irked and made the comment that it looks like the niners now appear like they are going to trade the pick.

My point is that I think the niners first choice was Parker and that Arik was their fallback plan.

Now before people say that we should have that we should have traded up-remember Odell, we tried but there were no takers and the price that was sought was to steep. Maybe the niners tried but the same thing happened this year. Mortgaging the future is not the way to go. Yes Boldin is in the last year of his contract, but if he plays just as good, they could always bring him back.

Still, thought we could have traded down and gotten more picks and still get Arik though.

Not high/estatic about the pick, but if you look at the niner's D scheme and the NFC west, Arik is a run stuffer, but needs to build on his pass rushing skill and the we need to stuff the run, especially now that we will face Gurly and Lynch twice a year. With his size and Wilsons lack of it, maybe he doesn't have to sack Wilson but just block it or force him to change the throws trajectory for the worst. Our linemen are not meant to be the sack masters but stuffers and space eaters to let the LB make the plays. Also, off season reports say that mangini intends to blitz more than fangio did (this worries me more).

Niners are a D team first and it looks like that it will stay that way.

I think everyone in the zone should start hoping we draft Armstead at 15. Seriously it's important.

Why the optimism on Armstead?

It's the only way to make sure it doesn't happen.

you guys didn't listen and look what happened.

Totally agree, as soon as they knew Parker was being selected by Dolphins, Baalke traded down for more picks.

It's like the curse of the offseason continues. I had my high hopes that either Waynes, Shelton or Parker would slip to us #15 but it didn't happen. I woke up today and I'm still in a grumpy mood.
I'd encourage all the Armstead naysayers to listen to Tomsula's presser...Baalke didn't pick him with the thought he'd need to plug him into the lineup right away. Tomsula loves his DL depth so the plan for Armstead is to coach him up, get him in the weight room, etc. and get him ready to play. Initially I was disappointed when Goodell read his name...but look at all the analysts who picked him in their mocks. It wasn't an accident, folks...there are a lot of pretty smart football people out there who believe he's got the game to play well in our 3-4. Ideally, Justin Smith plays in 2015...and Armstead can learn from one of the best. Give him a chance, people.
OK. You're right.

I'm now Officially DISAPPOINTED.

Sure hope Baalke knows something that most others don't.
Baalke delivers again!
Disappointed!!!
Capt. Reach is at it again. What a great storyline last yr he reaches for Ward n this yr he reaches for his best friend awwww what a such heart warming story.

Dude is consistent
Baalke obviously doesn't believe in the BPA philosophy. My soul hurts I'm so mad right now....
Man....after this past offseason I was so looking forward to this draft to re-energize me, and instead I am more dejected than ever. I have zero faith in the people running this team--we are officially the Browns west. How can we pick a safety??? Just ridiculous......#%*?! Balked and Jed........
This has to be hands down worst offseason/draft in history
You were right. The first 2 draft picks are terrible......
