If they trade down I like this type of draft. I could see them doing something like this. I like Michael Bennett Ohio State in the second for a d line.

Really? I'd be interested in seeing those stats.
They spoke about it on one of the process the process podcasts. He beat up on inferior competition and basically disappeared against good players...just what the said.

I had us taking an rb initially too. It would not surprise me but I think baalke goes later for rb in deep draft. If we didn't add bush your pick is obvious. Remember hunter is coming back too.
It would not surprise me if dgb fell that far at all. I think I finally figured out why I don't like him. He's fugly. Thus causes him issues with the ladies and he can't handle it....serious character risk.

Could go that route as well...the FO should have a GREAT shot gauging our health and secondary starting tomorrow which will REALLY help determine what direction we'll head in come draft day. So yes, we could end up going this route as well.
I wish there was a cb worthy of the pick. I don't like Waynes at all though.
If we stay at I think baslke goes with Perriman.

Cracking up on that last paragraph!
Yeah much of my approach to this Mock was centered around who we've been linked too and where these players are expected to fall around where we pick. Obviously I'm a big fan of trading down as well like you. Should be fun to see how it all goes down.

I'd be doing back flips if the draft went like this! I'd also prefer Arik to Goldman...not a fan of Goldman at all. I like the walker pick in the 6th

25: Carl Davis, DE/DT, Iowa – Our biggest foe, Seattle, is dismantling what was already a poor OL, which means we MUST take advantage and our DL MUST be our best position group. Davis moves very well for a 320 pounder so he can move with the zone blocking/reach blocking scheme of Seattle and throws people around too. He was the best DL by far IMO at the senior bowl and will be a day one starter, which is saying something considering the depth of our DL. I think Docket will be primarily a nickel DT, and pass rushing is his strong suit. TJE won't make the team. Davis, Dorsey and Carradine are our starters.
47: Denzel Perryman, ILB, Miami – His combine and film simply don't harmonize and I choose his film. This is a great player. Day one starter. Only issue is he is more like Bowman and I could see a pick more like Mckinney who fits more of the Jack role in our 3-4. Anywho, great player and we don't run a straight 3-4 often anyway. This dude is a baller and you can't measure that at the combine. I would be fine with McKinney too just for the record.
57: Eric Rowe, CB/S, Utah – tall, long, fast and quick. We all know how Baalke loves these hybrid DB's too. Very underrated player going into the draft process and is getting the love he deserves. Great player for Utah at multiple positions. The best DB at the senior bowl.
79: Ali Marpet, OG – Big chip on his shoulder, played pretty well at senior bowl. Crazy athletic and very strong. Should do well in our new zone blocking scheme.
126: Chris Conley, WR, Georgia – I think this may be the most underrated player in the draft. Typical later round WR selection by Baalke.
132: Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB, Oregon – his injuries and unknown agility stats make him drop. Baalke's token injury draft player.
I like the trade down there is some solid value in the 2nd-3rd rounds. I would be pretty upset if they wait until the 4th AGAIN to get a skilled player on offense. We had some real issue on offense last year and none of this picks make our offense any better IMO.
What happens to Thomas and Martin? Why can't they fill LG, both played it at some point in college.

We took four corners last year - Reaser, Johnson, Acker, Ward - so if Brock has one spot locked down then there's no guarantee that Marcus Peters, Byron Long, or any other corner will start.
The only guaranteed starters in the draft are Leonard Williams and Danny Shelton.

Disagree! A DL has as good a chance of contributing as a CB...depends on what Mangini wants to run. If he wants a huge DT/NT type then Goldman or Davis would at least be rotated in. The backfield is rather full of good potential. So is RB. If they added one of the top two RBs he might beat out Hyde. A top WR might beat out T Smith. There are no guarantees.
But the biggest thing I disagree with is that Baalke will be drafting starters. If he wants to do that he may move up rather than back (as he did with Reid). There are a handful of guys in this draft who would be automatic starters--DL Williams...hmm...any others?

I'd be OK with this draft as it adds depth at key need positions, but not crazy about it. Davis might be available in the 2nd (according to CBS) but if they really like him OK. Also according to CBS, there will be four ILBs better than Perryman, three of them available in the second round--McKinney, Anthony and Dawson.
So...if they trade back I'd rather see them take a WR like Strong and then go Davis or Phillips and an ILB in the 2nd. When you think about what Tomsula has been able to do with the DL I'm not sure he will go DL in the upper rounds...but
Sometimes HCs go away from their spots to show they will not have favoritism.

DL is a great idea in the 1st rd...we have no more star DL...Dockett's in the twilight of his career. We don't even have any proven starters other than Dorsey, who may be the starter at NT if Baalke doesn't draft the guy I think can take on some of what Justin Smith's been doing since he became a Niner. That is, tie up 2 OL on every snap. Who among the DL we have now can do that? Nobody. Enter Eddie Goldman, an absolute beast of a DL. The OL is full of starters...the only position in question is LG and Brandon Thomas will win that job.

Don't disagree with this but I'm beginning to think Baalke will go BPA and Goldman nor Davis will be that guy in the first. Williams and Sheldon are the two guys I believe are first round talent, after that...there are so many good players at other positions it would be difficult to take either Goldman or Davis unless Mangini sees them as his NT. If they both slide to the second round there will be six or seven DTs available in that round--Goldman, Davis, Phillips, Brown, Cooper, Bennett, and perhaps Armstead, who is listed as a DT on CBS but DE elsewhere.
It does bother me that the middle of the niners D is decimated! Injuries, retirements...ouch. When you consider Reid, Williams, Dorsey and Bowman are all coming back from injuries and the loss of Willis and Borland...yikes!

your love affair with Goldman is crazy
I just don't get it though...He had a poor pro-day and I just don't see it on film.
I don't think we need a 2-down NT at 15 and I would take Brown/Davis/Armstead over him in a trade down.

Trade: 15 for 25 and 57
V.3-Final
25: Dorial Green-Beckham - the more the time goes by the more this is the absolute obvious pick, and it really has to be. We have our speed guy and we need a mismatch player like this particularly in the redzone. I am still pissed at not getting Benjamin last year and Beckham is a better talent.

I WANT THIS
45: Henry Anderson Stanford DT/DE – perfect scheme fit. Better value than Davis and Armstead. May not last this long though. pSPARQ rating 8 pts higher than Williams. Prototype 3-4 DE. His pass rush is simply ridiculous. He literally tooled everyone at the senior bowl. He understands leverage and how to use it.
57: Stephone Anthony, ILB
79: Jaquiski Tartt Samford S
126: Jeremiah Poutasi Utah OT - moves to OG
132: Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB, Oregon – his injuries and unknown agility stats make him drop. Baalke's token injury draft player.
