Wasn't even talking about DGB being a future suspension. His past has been talked about enough on this board that I didn't need to touch on the subject. Was referring to Karlos Williams, and you're assumption shows exactly why I wouldn't want Karlos Williams. At least DGB pick can be justified because he's super talented, but Williams to me hasn't shown enough to warrant the headaches. He's an average back that regressed his 2nd year at his position, and on top of that is starting to rack up police investigations. There's better backs with less baggage that can be had in the 4th.

Oh ok I thought you were talking about DGB and Karlos Williams bc you wrote.."And taking chances on guys with sketchy pasts is fine, but not every pick. Good way to set your team back if you keep missing on guys cause they can't play due to suspensions"..and that seemed as you meant both bc you wrote in plural..again thanks for your opinion..I guess we shall see in the future who's point of view is more accurate..and I'd love to see your mock..have you made any yet ?
Best mock I've seen on here. I don't know if some of those guys are going to be there though.

Thanks man..I kno I agree but I sure hope so..I think it's very possible considering how much players rise and fall..

I should have clarified. It's a player by player evaluation. Some guys with talent but red flags still warrant consideration. Guys like NaVorro Bowman, Carlos Hyde, Aaron Lynch are guys that have (so far) been worth the risk despite red flags when coming out. Others aren't worth the time, and Karlos Williams, imo, is one. (Not even going to speak on DGB)

And no I've yet to make a mock this year, have in the past, just haven't sat down and done one yet. The 1st round pick is holding me back this year. There's guys I'd like to draft, but not sure if they warrant a top 15 pick, so I've been going back and forth on who I think we should/will draft. That's why I didn't mind your 1st pick in the mock, while DGB has a ton of red flags, you moved back in order to grab him and still picked up another asset in the 2nd round.

I agree completely it's difficult to decide who to take 15th overall..since my 1st mock this yr I had us moving back for DGB..this draft is so different bc we have real needs and have to draft players who show up this season..years past we had the luxury of going bpa bc we were stacked at almost every position..if we stay at 15 we have to hit on whoever we take..baalke has obviously shown he's great at drafting but this years class is as important as I could remember..

I feel like Williams and Edwards are the only 2 that could be picked earlier..maybe bc they are ranked 6th and 9th at there positions..it's a mock and players fall and rise so who knows..

yeah i agree, players fall and rise all the time so it is very possible and i hope you are right

Rd 1 traded..move back and pick up an extra 2nd..we still take DGB..this has been my 1st rd pick since my 1st mock..I'm staying with him..

Rd 2..ILB out of Clemson..Stephone Anthony..an athletic freak who will rotate with wilhoite until he beats him out..

Rd 2..CB out of FSU..PJ Williams..I think he will fall to the late 2nd..his teammate Darby is on fire right now..

Rd 3..DE out or FSU..Mario Edwards..a future 49ers/Seminole DE combo in Carradine and Edwards..?

Rd 4..OL out of Texas A&M..Cedric Ogbuehi..redshirt like Thomas last year..I like our oline even without Iupati..health is the key..

Rd 4..RB out of FSU..Karlos Williams..another Seminole..yesss..young athletic strong fast rb who can run between the tackles or bounce it outside..I love hunter but injuries hate him..

Rd 5..TE out of Oklahoma..Blake Bell..big athletic sleeper who will surprise..

Rd 6..ILB out of Georgia..Amaro Herrera..athletic kid who will challenge moody for the 4th ILB spot and special teams play..

Rd 7..OLB out of West Virginia..Shaquille Riddick..long athletic baalke type of pass rusher.:challenge Lemonier for 4th OLB spot..

Rd 7..WR out of Washington..Kasen Williams..tall strong good hands possession receiver who was predicted as a 1st rd talent but injuries hurt him 2 yrs in a row..worth the risk..

I like it for the most part...couple suggestions

  • Love DGB trade down and he would a red zone threat to add with Smith, Boldin, VD. I see TDs not FGs in our future with that talent.

  • PJ is regarded as a top 32 pick on CBS big board so maybe Bryon Jones at that pick?

  • Like like the Mario pick he is versatile, long-arm big hands and is projected as a 2nd rounder ( they might have to move up in the 2nd).

  • Not sure Cedric is there in the 4th but it would be nice. Mitch Morse might be a good pick for OG. Dude is strong had the 2nd highest bench in the combine.

  • Pass on Karlos and his off-field issue might drop him even more, Langford in the 4th at RB might be the better fit, I like RB around this spot.

  • I like Zach Wagenmann from Montana at OLB, he has been getting a lot of buzz. Check him out. he should be there around the 6th.

Overall not bad thanks for the mock
i don't think we should go wr in the first, no need to. we got smith, boldin, Patton, Ellington, Simpson. we need to worry about protecting kap and replacing talent on defense.

It's funny bc my cb pick in the 2nd was between PJ Williams or Byron Jones so I agree..but obviously want PJ if there..

I wouldn't be opposed to Mitch morse if Cedric is gone..

Honestly I'm all but sold on Karlos Williams..I like his style of running..his vision..I think he will be a steal..

As for Wagenmann..I had him in my mock b4 this 1..I'm not sure he is a baalke type..he likes long arms athletic freaks as pass rushers..which is why I took Riddick 6'6 245..long arms..but again I wouldn't be opposed to Wagenmann..

Thanks for your opinion..
As an FSU fan I'd pass on Karlos Williams especially in the 4th round.. I don't think I'd draft him at all actually. UDFA.

What's Riddick's arm length? I can't find anything as far as his numbers go. Wagenmann has 33 1/2 arms which isn't too bad. In the 6th round it's all a crap shoot anyway. I think Zack would be ready to play much sooner than Riddick. Wagemann had good numbers at the combine and 37 sacks in three years isn't to shabby

I think it's one thing to go after DGB based on upside vs his red flags, it's another to go after Karlos vs his red flags, I just don't see this upside vs all the other RBs in this draft, who don't have off-field issues.

But it's your mock

Like you said wagenmann is heating up..so don't you think he will be drafted earlier then the 6th..? I like him as much as all..and would enjoy seeing him on special teams..

Thanks! yeah those are some good numbers which might throw him a little higher as well.
