Trae Waynes, Jalen Collins or Marcus Peters, I'd take anyone of those three it doesn't matter to me.

Please not Collins. He's too raw. He can't step in day 1 and be an impact. In fact I think he would be a liability until year 2.

Wayne's or peters would be awesome. One of these guys and Phillip Dorset or Mario Alford. Oh goodness.

So to you the most important quality is the ability to play on day 1? It's definitely one way to go, but that always seemed short-sighted to me. I'd rather get a guy who had a high ceiling any day of the week than someone who I felt was a lesser talent but could start immediately. If we were on the cusp of a SB and one player away, then I could possibly see that, but this team will be lucky to win a few division games next year. Seems like a good time to get high upside players and see what they can do.

I'm not sold on Collins either. I'm not seeing that combine speed on the field. Don't want. Has potential, but I've seen too many athletic, DBs who didn't play was underwhelming completely bust in the NFL.
Peters & Waynes look realy good though.

In your perspective, in what way is Collins raw?? Btw drafting Collins or any of the CB's I mentioned wouldn't mean drafting him in the 1st round.

As good of a prospect as Waynes appears to be, I am surprised there is no mention of his poor 3 cone time. That is the one red flag with him, and while there are and have been some good corners who also had poor 3 cone times they are the more rare exception. 3 cone is actually a better measure than 40 times for corners. While he claimed cramps at the combine hurt his other numbers, and then improved his shuttle time at his pro day he did choose to stand on his 3 cone combine number which does not remove the red flag.
I would be leery of taking him at 15 or even moving up to get him (Vikes could be players). Would prefer to move back and take someone like Johnson or Collins if we go corner in round one but in Baalke we trust.

He technique is very bad. He's got awful footwork when in press coverage. He seems to take these hop steps instead of getting low and driving into his back pedal. This isn't unusual for a larger corner but even by big corner standards he is a sloppy technician. When he's in off coverage his hips aren't fluid enough to make a break in the ball in no time flat. Also I don't see the instincts that say MP has. He really is all HWS and I don't think that's good enough for a corner. I have him as a third rounder.

I've seen Collins get beat on a lot of slants. His ability to get himself into the right position would worry me, but his physical skills are tempting.
If you want an athlete at CB I say go w/ Darby from FSU. He's a better CB and just as good of an athlete IMO.

I see what your saying but I don't even believe he has the great of potential. As I mentioned in my last post he's just a HWS guy that hasn't really shown much on tape. I think he will be abused badly for a while. I think Waynes Johnson and Peters have the potential to be better corners then him. I'd rather see instincts and ball skills then HWS for my corners personally.

Agree with you on the first paragraph. He doesn't have the hips to open up and explode on the ball.
Darby is a good athlete too but nowhere near of a specimen as Collins is. Collins has a couple more inches on Darby and is much stronger in his upper body and consequently run support.
EDIT: If Baalke wants a specimen at CB I'd be MUCH more comfortable taking Byron Jones in the second.

Kevin Johnson is being criminally underrated IMO. I think he could be the best CB to come out of this draft.

Besides speed what does this guy bring to the table that makes him the best cb in the draft? To me speed is not so important for a cb. Fluidity in movement and instinks seem more important to me
