Daragon's 2015 Mock Draft (March)

Wow, free agency doesn't even start until tomorrow, and yet our whole 49er world has been shaken up like crazy. Here is my Mock draft, pre-free agency, for the month of March. 49ers FA's Re-Signed: DL Tony Jerod-Eddie (ERFA) - SIGNED ILB Michael Wilhoite (ERFA) - SIGNED LS Kyle Nelson (RFA) - SIGNED CB Perrish Cox (UFA) CB Chris Cook (UFA) TE Carrett Celek (RFA) - SIGNED 49ers FA's Leaving: OLB Dan Skuta (UFA) - He'll find a starting job with another team. QB Blaine Gabbert (UFA) QB Josh Johnson (UFA) - Was a Jim Harbaugh guy. RB Frank Gore (UFA) - Signs with Eagles, making ~$5 million a year. We'll miss you Frank! RB Alonso Smith (UFA) RB Phillip Tanner (UFA) WR Michael Crabtree (UFA) - His personality and production never worked in SF. His heart is set on playing somewhere else. See ya Crabs. WR Brandon Lloyd (UFA) WR Kassim Osgood (UFA) OG Mike Iupati (UFA) - Great pulling guard. Horrible pass protection. He's already priced out of our range. See you Mikey. ILB Desmond Bishop (UFA) CB Chris Culliver (UFA) - $$$$$ S Bubba Ventrone (UFA) - He jumped into the coaching world with the Patriots. 49er Players Extended: .... Nobody now... :( 49er Players Restructured: OLB Aldon Smith - He's trying to prove he can be trusted for one season. We'll see how he does. 49er Players Released: OLB Ahmad Brooks - He doesn't really act like he wants to be here and his salary doesn't fit his production. WR Stevie Johnson - He'll land somewhere else and play well. 49er Players Retiring: MLB Patrick Willis - I'm looking at you Jesus... I'm looking at you. DT Justin Smith - I think he may be ready to enjoy his new home and family. He's earned it. NFL FA's Accuired: DT Darnell Dockett - We were able to steal him away from our rivals. He is an above average pass rusher with a high motor. WR Torrey Smith - He is the deep threat that we've so desperately needed over the past umpteen years. He'll go great with Kaepernick' arm. QB Michael Vick - The 49ers will most likely draft a QB as well, but Vick will be a good camp competition for the rookie. WR Jerome Simpson - Another speed WR who is going to play the role of security, in case someone gets hurt. 49ers 2015 NFL Draft: 1. WR DeVante Parker Louisville - We are able to grab the last of the big three. Finally some good luck in the 49er world. DeVante Parker is a good blend of speed and size. He'll be given a year to really fine tune his craft under Torrey Smith and Anquan Boldin. Then you'll see a set of Torrey Smith, DeVante Parker, and Bruce Ellington in the future. 2. RB Tevin Coleman Indiana - Trent Baalke has always wanted a multi RB attack. We need another stud with Frank Gore leaving to the Eagles. Tevin Coleman is a great RB to pair with Carlos Hyde. Smash mouth football is still alive in 49er land. 3. CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu Oregon - This kid would have possibly been the first CB taken in the draft if it wasn't for his injury. In a typical Trent Baalk move, we pick him up and let him sit his rookie season. I know you guys aren't excited about ACL players, but you can't expect Baalke to just change his ways. 4. DE Henry Anderson Stanford - He is surprisingly athletic and brings a decent pass rush. He needs some grooming, but he is a great developmental player for our future d-line. 4. OG Mitch Morse Missouri - We need some competition at OG and bodies for the future, given the chance that we lose Boone after this season. (Comp Pick) 5. QB Sean Mannion Oregon State - He has the size and arm strength. He'll need to be polished though. So we'll draft him and let him compete for a spot behind Kaepernick. 6. CB Ladarius Gunter - Another late round CB that we'll bring into the fold and allow to compete with last year's batch. 7. OT Doniel Gambrell Notre Dame - Put into competition for a new swing tackle. 7. K Kyle Brindza Notre Dame - Some possible kicker competition for Dawson and his huge salary. (Comp Pick)

Really like your 1st 2 picks, particularily Coleman. I think he is going to be special.

just kidding, I like this mock and would be very happy if it went this way...I could see them grabbing a couple more players in FA based on what happened today

Haha. I love DGB, but I would take any of the top 3 guys ahead of him. I've stated that.

Nice mock. Don't think Gunter drops that far, but every other pick looks about right in terms of value. Like the QB and K picks late. Good value for good prospects.

Not sure why Morse is becoming a default 4th round pick in mock drafts now. The guy doesn't seem like a great fit in a power running scheme. If we switch to zone blocking, maybe he's worth a look but I don't like his lack of length and power.

I would pass on your 3rd round pick. ACL redshirts in the early rounds scare me. There is a good chance a quality CB who is healthy will be available or maybe one of the top guards will still be on the board mid 3rd round. If he last until the 4th round it might be worth the risk.

Lattimore was a wasted pick and Tank finally saw some action at the end of his 2nd season. Not much production for a 4th round pick and an early 2nd rounder.

I love your Mock Draft, the only problem I see is if Torrey Smith is signed, I doubt Baalke goes WR in the 1st. Then again he's done dumber things like draft AJ Jenkins.

Overall I like the picks of 2nd to the 6th round that seems like a Baalke draft.

Our defense is getting gutted yet u waited til late 4th round

Dockett is old tha cowboy is older and may not come back Dail is nothing special same go's for TJE... Dorsey and Williams have had back to back injuries.... Tha defense cant help keep us in games if we keep ignoring it ...
