I'd bet good money that Strong is our pick.

I'm more comfortable betting Monopoly money. I think he's more likely than DGB at this stage.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if they've taken DGB off their board given the off-field issues.

You guys are overblowing DGB's off-field issues way way too much.

I think you're underestimating the impact that the off-field issues have had on the front office. IMO, it's not so much about what DGB did/didn't do, it's what the FRONT OFFICE can't afford to do (e.g., take chances on guys with known off-field issues).

If he pushed her out of frustration and didn't intend for her to fall than it's not a big deal. If he intended to push her down the stairs than he is borderline homicidal. I mean to assume you know what he was thinking is irresponsible. People make mistakes and I for one am not okay with looking at everything as black and white. If he convinces our staff that he's a good guy, than by all means draft him if he's your guy. I however would rather have Strong who seems like more of a sure thing to become a productive pro.

Let's see how many football games are won with that approach. People make mistakes. You can't shy away from every kid who's made a mistake before they were 20. We all have.

I'm no fan of the black and white approach either, but GhostofFredDean74 said it best: "it's not so much about what DGB did/didn't do, it's what the FRONT OFFICE can't afford to do"

San Francisco 49ers -- Louisville WR DeVante Parker: I'm not so sure the 49ers don't go after a defensive lineman in this spot. Malcolm Brown (Texas) and Arik Armstead (Oregon) could be in the discussion, but for now I will leave Parker in the spot.

Not saying I agree or disagree with that approach (IMO, it's got to be a case-by-case basis)...I simply said I wouldn't be surprised if they took him IN PARTICULAR off their board mostly because of the violence-towards-women allegation (which though never pursued, makes him sound very risky to a team that went through a huge scandal last year).

I also never said they would or should take every questionable character off their board...try not to read so much into what I said.

I'm not convinced they will either. Who can be convinced of any pick for the 49ers? AJ Jenkins, Jimmie War? Lol. Yeah, we have no clue. I just hope they do pick Dorial Green-Beckham, because I have a lot of faith that he would do wonders on our team.

True, nobody saw those coming - but it gets much harder to project picks.as you get further down the order - This year we're picking 15th. so we should have a better idea of who will be available. Of course - nobody saw the Aldon Smith pick coming either - and he was no.9 overall..

15 San Francisco – Eddie Goldman, DT, FSU. The 49ers are a team in turmoil, and you might see massive changes in the trenches on both sides. Or, do they help their QB bounce back from a bad year with a receiver, especially if Amari Cooper is on the board?

15. San Francisco 49ers: Ereck Flowers, OT/OG, Miami:

The guess is that Mike Iupati ends up going elsewhere as a free agent in March. That's not an easy spot to fill. Flowers benched 225 pounds 37 times in Indianapolis, the best for any offensive lineman invited to the Combine. He played tackle in college, could move to guard in the pros, and can play on either side. An interesting note --€" Flowers was the only player at the Combine who doesn't have an agent. He works out at The U, says he uses the University of Miami family for counsel, and will just consult with a family lawyer to sign his rookie contract. He just wants to play football. I think Jim Tomsula will like this kid a lot.
I wish these guys would do trade mocks every once in awhile. I honestly believe there is only a 50% chance we stay put. 25% for trading up or down each. If we trade down I think we are targeting dgb. Trade up i think it's a top wr or if we trade way up maybe even Lenard Williams. Stay put it's probably Parker, Strong, or Armsted. Or the most likely case of all, I'm completely wrong and baalke does something i haven't even thought of as a possibility.

Trade mocks are a lot more work for the author - but they are fun to read.. I agree the 49ers are in a position where they're just as likely to trade as to stay put.

The Pat Kirwin mock had a trade in it. PHI moves up to grab Mariota.

Gotta love all of this. Of course, I'm biased because I want no part of the drama that comes with DGB or the bust ability of an Oregon DL, name inconsequential. Sorry Amistad.

If we draft based on PR then we aren't gonna win a ton of games lol...good thing they didn't go that route on bowman. If baalke and the scouts feel he has moved in the right direction I'm fine with him as a Niner. We don't need a bunch of tebows on the team lol.
