15. San Francisco 49ers – Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma – Speaking of character concerns, no prospect has a more troubling background than DGB. However, he's a rare talent at receiver, which could easily lead a team to spend a first-round pick on him. With the top corners off the board, the 49ers take the risk.

DGB, Marcus Peters and Armstead are all great prospects but NOT at #15. Still think Baalke trades back to around #30 and selects one of these guys and then in the second, secures his new inside LB.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see DGB slip to the top of r2. I would be very happy with a trade down to the late 20s.

15 - SF: Danny Shelton, DT, Washington
New head coach Jim Tomsula is a defensive line guru. He gets the heir apparent to Justin Smith in Shelton, who is roughly the size of a Winnebago.

I don't get all this Arik Armstead stuff. I'm an Oregon fan, and he reminds me a lot of Dion Jordan, in the sense that he's an impressive specimen, who was good, but not GREAT in college. I thought Jordan was taken way too high, and I don't want the 49ers to make that mistake with Armstead. Armstead could be a solid pro, but a Ray McDonald type talent.

15. San Francisco 49ers - WR DeVante Parker, Louisville - The 49ers can't stop with just Torrey Smith in terms of offseason receiver additions. Parker is certainly athletic, but he can dominate the contested catch game. He is a tremendous endzone threat.

15. San Francisco 49ers: Danny Shelton, DT, Washington
Get ready for a new-look 49ers team in 2015. Gone are linebackersPatrick Willis and Chris Borland; Michael Crabtree and Frank Gore aren't coming back, and oh yes, Jim Harbaugh, Vic Fangio, and Greg Roman will all be coaching elsewhere in 2015. Jim Tomsula is a defensive line coach at heart, and if the 345-pound Shelton -- €"a guy who's far more mobile than other 345 pounders in the league -- €"slips to 15, I can't see Tomsula and GM Trent Baalke passing. Shelton's from Sacramento and comes from a family of ... 49ers fans.

15. San Francisco 49ers -- Washington CB Marcus Peters: Patrick Willis and Chris Borlandretiring has shifted the attention in San Francisco to inside linebacker but replacing starting cornerback Chris Culliver is also a concern. If not for character red-flags, Peters would rank as the top cornerback in this class. The solidly-built 6-foot, 197 pounder plays with the physicality necessary in the NFC West and has very good hands. 49ers' GM Trent Baalke attended UW's Pro Day April 2 where Peters, an Oakland native, starred. Fiery head coach Jim Tomsula might have the personality to maximize Peters' vast potential.

Chris Burke, SI, April 14

15, SHANE RAY, DE/OLB, RS Junior, Missouri
The floor on Ray's draft position sits right around this spot—many folks will have him going top 10. Ray has the athletic ability to make the transition from 4-3 DE to 3-4 OLB. For San Francisco it would be a best-player-available pick that would lessen the urgency to re-sign Aldon Smith or to keep Ahmad Brooks around beyond 2015.

PICK NO.15, DANNY SHELTON, NT, WASHINGTON
Shelton will immediately improve the 49ers' run defense.

18. San Francisco 49ers (traded pick No. 15 to Kansas City Chiefs for picks No. 18 and No. 80): Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest -- The most glaring need in San Francisco is not inside linebacker, it's cornerback. Kevin Johnson is a fluid, highly aware, super-experienced cornerback. Done.

Walter, Walter Football, April 15

San Francisco 49ers: Jalen Collins, CB
The 49ers lost two starting cornerbacks this offseason, as Chris Culliver and Perrish Cox have moved on to different teams. This has created a massive void at the cornerback position, which will need to be addressed early in the 2015 NFL Draft. Otherwise, someone like Shareece Wright may have to start for San Francisco, which would be disastrous.

Scott Wright, DraftCountdown, April 13

15 SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS: ARIK ARMSTEAD, DE, OREGON
The Niners are one of the deepest teams in the league and one of a select few that could legitimately justify going the best player available route. However, the defensive line may have to be addressed sooner rather than later since the 35-year-old Justin Smith is contemplating retirement, Ray McDonald was jettisoned following multiple off-the-field incidents and Darnell Dockett is merely a short-term solution. Oregon DE Arik Armstead is one of this years most impressive physical specimens, checking in at 6-8 and 290 pounds with freakish athleticism. Armstead isn't a dynamic pass rusher off the edge but profiles as an ideal five-technique in an odd front due to his ability to play both the pass and run. Armstead is still rough around the edges but there is no denying the rare, God-given gifts and incredible potential. Sounds like a perfect project for new head coach and noted d-line guru Jim Tomsula. San Francisco could also use reinforcements at cornerback after losing Chris Culliver and Parrish Cox in free agency and they might be willing to roll the dice on Marcus Peters of Washington. This is probably too early for an inside linebacker such as Benardrick McKinney of Mississippi St. but that is a need as well following the unexpected retirements of Patrick Willis and Chris Borland. It wouldn't hurt to bring in another top-shelf wideout at some point either but that probably won't be a first round priority after signing Torrey Smith in free agency.

Charles Davis, NFL.com, April 15

PICK NO. 15, ARIK ARMSTEAD, DT, OREGON
Fits the 49ers' 3-4 defense to a T. Long-levered and has his best football ahead of him, Armstead plays with excellent leverage for a man nearly 6-foot-8.

Eddie Brown, UT San Diego. April 15

15) San Francisco (8-8) - Marcus Peters, CB, Washington, Jr.
Cornerback is a big need after letting both starters -- Chris Culliver and Parrish Cox -- leave in free agency. Peters, an Oakland native, would likely be considered the top cover corner in this draft if it weren't for character concerns. Top needs: CB, OG, LB

Draft King, April 14

15. San Francisco 49ers - Arik Armstead, DL, Oregon (6'2" 295)
With retirements and departures ravaging a once-great defense, the 49ers face a daunting rebuilding challenge. That can begin here with Armstead, who I suspect would be pressed into action right away if he ends up in San Francisco.
