This, the Baalke haters especially will be out in full force. He is a project but I don't think it is a terrible pick and if he reaches somewhere close to his full potential, it'd turn out to be a great pick in the long run.

I bet we could trade down and still grab him.

Possibly.

I guess the most reassuring thing I heard during this was the comment by many, many, of the NFL Nation participants was their belief/insinuation, that the team they were representing would be looking at making a trade, which would not allowed for this to happen.

I can only hope that will happen, changing our available options.....

OR

....wiser heads withing the 49ers Organization will prevail and select somebody else.

This mock had quite a few shockers IMHO.

Yes I saw those stats...very nice. Why is he not a top 10 pick then? Oh and I don't want Arik at all at 15.

I have him 14th Overall on my Best Player Board

Negatives

- Sometimes loses balance (needs to consistently bring his hips and feet with him)
- At times he will disengage too soon
- Hands in pass pro need work

Yeah I've read that he has some issues with his hands in pass pro, I don't think he has the length to be a tackle either. I'm really hanging on that Thomas or Martin will win the LG spot. both are bigger, longer, and stronger than Collins....but if baalke is in love with Collins, I'll have to just accept it lol.

I could live with Collins and DGB/Smith with the 1st two picks

Even if, I feel like no niner fan here wants to even whiff this guy. Im undecided about this guy.

Why the niners wont draft arik armstead.

Every offseason we read about Baalke's tendencies when evaluating a player. We all know how much he values things such as arm length and overall athleticism amongst many other tangible components. This would make Armstead a very logical pick. Although ,Baalke is a film first guy, and the fact of the matter is Armstead's film alone should make him a 3rd round pick, it just isnt that good in my opinion. There is to much projection for him to be the 15th overall pick. I read an interview once, that I cant seem to find where, Baalke said he made a decision on what he thought about a guy with in the first 5 minutes or so of watching him (don't quote me on that), and the rest of the process was to simply confirm that the combine numbers and interview matched the on field performance.

I just dont see. Baalke never telegraphs his picks.

Usually, people have no clue what hes going to do.

I don't think the Draftniks have ever got a Baalke pick correct yet. I suspect that continues.

His arms aren't even that long (33inchs) for being 6-7...

Well I guess we could at least keep the Duracell battery power sound Patrick Willis used to use after a big hit ou can't stop the Coppertop AA battery
Even our stupid ESPN 49er dude Gutierrez mocks this guy at 15. I hope this means it's someone totally different.
