Questions for the offseason

I apologize if this isn't the correct forum to ask these questions.

If Justin Smith does retire how much cap room will that free up?
Does Nick Fairley look like a potential for a 3-4 end? How much would he cost? He seems like someone baalke would look at a 1st round pick that hasn't played up to his potential.

Looking for these answers and trusting some of the more educated forum junkies might have these answers. Thank you

This should be in the Free Agency forum...

But I wouldn't put Fairley in 3-4. He's a 4-3 guy IMO.
