For a team that potentially could loose it's two starting CB's for the second straight season I find it extremely hard to believe that we wait that long to address that position. IMHO

I see where you're coming from but i really doubt we lose both guys. We'll also have Keith Reecer and Kenneth Acker healthy to compete for starting job. Should be interesting to say the least.

No no no to drafting guys who will start season on the PUP list. It worked OK when we had decent depth at those spots but now we need guys who can come in and compete on day 1.

I agree with your point but i just couldn't pass up Cedric in the 2nd round. With Brandon Thomas coming back healthy this year and replacing Mike Iupati, i could see Cedric Ogbuehi coming back healthy in 2016 and replacing Alex Boone.
As for Byron Jones, his tape speaks for itself. Top 10 CB in draft who falls due to injury. We'll have Kenneth Acker and Keith Reecer back this year as well to compete for starting jobs.

Even if we lost only one I still have to believe that not even Trent Baalke would be so reckless as to not address a very serious position for a roster not that deep at the position. Relying on two guys who didn't play (or play much) last season would be just reckless in my mind. I just don't see the CB position as a position of luxury for the 49ers, luxury enough to not address it at least by the 3rd round, and certainly not luxury enough for us to not address the position at all in the upcoming draft.

And I agree with stonecold590, no more guys being drafted straight to the PUP or IR. We need to draft healthy guys ready to compete and contribute day one. Our depth has been depleted so don't have time for that bullsh!t this season.

Don't want another ACL tear draft pick that early, middle of the 2nd round. too much talent on the board.
There needs to be a big payoff for taking a chance on an injured player. If he is still there in the 4th rd then ok but not a mid 2nd rd pick.

CB is one position that I have total faith in Baalke. I see him continuing to get depth at the position and resigning one of the two FAs. I also see him grabbing a cheap FA (similar to Cook) as well. There aren't really any shutdown CBs in this draft and just judging on the past couple drafts that position has a high bust potential in the early rounds.

Man I hope we quit drafting injured players. I realize we don't need much off the bat but it'd be nice to make a splash like Kevin Costner in Draft Day
